I visited this adoption agency in May of 2023 and adopted my best friend there. When I first arrived to my surprise is was a house. I entered through a back door which was a little catio with some kitties who enjoy being outdoors. Right off the back one of their workers assisted me and started explaining all of the cats in great detail. Their names, if their a bonded pair and with who, their personal story, their age, and if they have any medical problems. She did that with every cat. Which I love cats so I rather enjoyed and was very entertained. I could tell the love the worker really had for the cats for her to remember all of those details. It was rather inspiring. I can tell they try their best to take care of all the kitties. The cleanliness of the place is what you'd expect of a place with probably over 40 cats and about 3-4 workers. Maybe if they had more volunteers it could be kept up a little easier. I personally didn't find it very bad though. They did give me all of the paper work they had on my cat. Which included that he was spayed, had his shots, and first round of Dewormer, they gave me his second dose of Dewormer as well. The process was really quick. I loved it. They do an amazing job!
Oh My Goodness the people at this place are AMAZING!!! We went to Harris County Shelter (not a great experience there), Montgomery County Shelter (they didn't have any cats), Conroe Shelter (they only had 4), then tried here (they had SO MANY!) And what was so great was you could tell how loved & well taken care of these cats are!!! They were expecting pets & rubs, the keepers knew their personalities & told us about each one & how or why they had their name. We just showed up between 10am-2pm. You go to the back door, there is a sign on the front door telling you to. Shut the gate before you enter to ensure all kitties won't escape 😁 Then you will be in kitty wonderland, to hopefully find your bestest new fur baby friend!!!
The people here are kind. I adopted a cat from them with the willingness to care fully for a new fur child. Oliver appeared healthy to me, I was told he was 2 or 3 years old most likely. They told me his story of a college student dumping him on them “temporarily” turning into a year… I figured he just needed his shots updated and he was going to be fine. I took the risk and adopted him. I do feel as though I was decepted as to his current health and his papers were not included on purpose. It seems odd to not have papers on the cat if you interacted with the person leaving him in your care. I do not recommend this place based on the cleanliness, lack of transparency, and lack of veterinary care. While I think the ladies here do care I also don’t feel comfortable recommending this to ANYBODY. The shelters do more for your animals beforehand and include all information so you know what you’re getting into.
I love animals but unfortunately I can't have one of my own. I volunteered over there for one month. The staff were really nice, but the owner was mean and bitter which makes me quite.... Other then that it's a residential place. Beverly lives there with all the cats in her house it's pretty dirty and messy but the staff takes good care of the cats there.
adopted our cat from here on wednesday, but they failed to let us know he is infested with fleas :( we didn’t even notice until we got him settled in at home. however we love him very much already, he is a perfect and sweet boy so we will do all we can to get him completely flea free. downside is, we have other cats who will probably also have fleas now. fleas are really hard to get under control especially once they start jumping off of cats and onto carpet, bedding, clothes… it will end up costing us more than anticipated, but for our sweet new kitty its worth it. i just hope in the future this shelter is more transparent about the state of their cats BEFORE sending them home, especially if they knew about the other cats we have in our home. otherwise, the staff and volunteers are very friendly and kind. we went in and found our pretty boy within MINUTES.
Fostering to adopt this sweet girl. She was brought to the shelter by a construction crew who untangled her from some plastic she was stuck in. The shelter only had her for a few days if I remember correctly, but they put the life back into her. She is fitting in quite well for her first day at her new home. She doesn’t mind the older dogs or our other cat at all. I haven’t introduced the youngest dog yet since he just wants to “play”, and I don’t want her overwhelmed. She mainly just wants to follow me around and climb on my shoulders lol. I trimmed her nails first with no problems, and gave her a bath, she didn’t like it much at first, but calmed down after a minute or so and let me clean her up. Then I gave her some wet food that she really enjoyed and now she is just sleeping on my chest while I relax in the recliner. Over the next week or so I’m keeping her separate from the others so she can settle in and I can slowly introduce her more to each dog little by little. This shelter is doing so much for these cats. They are life savers for these cats, literally! Any donations will help! Towels, blankets, litter, food, ANYTHING really. Money obviously is a necessity as well to keep this non profit going, 1,5,10,20 dollars helps. People like this need funding to keep doing the wonderful work that they are doing.
