Description A Voice for the Voiceless for Nearly 100 Years. Community leaders established Houston SPCA nearly 100 years ago to meet the needs of animals in Houston, and we have always put their care and wellbeing first in everything we do. An iconic Houston nonprofit, our organization has grown along with our beloved city, and we have continually adapted our efforts to help the animals in our community best. Since our inception, Houston SPCA has saved and provided services for millions of animals.

The staff were great. The facility was very clean. All the animals, that I saw seemed healthy and well taken care of. My only complaint would be the price of adopting a puppy vs an adult. I would go there again, if I were in need of adopting. I'm very happy with the (so far unnamed) puppy I adopted. Great thanks to the staff. This was my first time adopting. (Update) I adopted him at 8 wks old. Now he is 11 wks. I changed his name from Bentley to Romeo.
They were very helpful with taking in strays and also being a No Kill shelter unless the animal is in terrible conditions (cancer, broke spine, diseased etc). So Me and My girlfriend found a stray white/black domestic short hair that fell into a drain at a burger king. (the drain was actually very clean/3 feet deep and the cat was only there for 5 mins). We both were unable to take care of the cat. My girlfriend had a dog and as for me, my father dont allow any cats in the house. Which was unfortunate because the Cat that we saved was very quiet and friendly. (we named it burger king) The cat is still seems to be a kitten (maybe 4 months or so old). Even if we had the cat for 1 day. We really enjoyed its company and it was one of the most quietest and calmest cats, I have ever seem in my life. I am just posting this in hopes that someone will see this review and adopt that wonderful sunshine. Burger king deserves a loving home! there is some pictures of burger king!
They are professional and treat you like family. Very clean and organized place, everyone is supporting you and your pet. I didn't feel pushed nor looked down upon.
I’m so grateful with the Houston SPCA. Because of them, 4 years ago, I was able to find the sweetest baby, and he chose me to take him home! They rescued him after he got hurt and saved his life. Niño is now an 8 year old, 3 legged boy that’s thriving. Niño was able to bring joy back to our home after losing two pets. Also, not so long ago we found a kitten that was hurt. Unfortunately I couldn’t keep her, even though I wish I did. Thankfully, the SPCA took her in and said they would care for her and eventually find her a home. I’m so grateful they did that for this kitten because I was able to be at peace knowing that she was taken care of.
Everyone was so nice and knowledgeable. Organized and very clean. They had a lot of puppies available for adoption when we visited. We did adopt our newest addition to our family. A chihuahua mix. We named her "Lilo" ( formally known as "Pablita") 🥰 I definitely recommend giving Houston SPCA a visit
I’m so happy I got to take this sweet girl home yesterday! Everyone I met yesterday was so kind, especially once they found out I wanted to adopt Dumpling. She’s such a cutie and loves to play - we ran around the backyard when we got home last night (to her forever home!) and she relaxed immediately and wore herself out running around. She passed out in my bed and made herself at home. I’m so excited for our journey together!
