FRAUD ALERT. I’m not sure where to begin with this, but I feel this review must be posted as nothing with Save Some Souls is as it seems. We recently adopted a dog from Save Some Souls. While at first it seemed that this “organization” wants to help dogs, over the past few weeks it has become quite clear that this is not the case. Before we adopted our dog we were told he was in perfect health, had no behavior issues, and was housebroken. Our “Case Manager” Trisha gave us an estimated time frame regarding his arrival, but we were shocked when we received a text the day before our dog’s arrival saying that he was on the way. From that point on Trisha’s communication was anything but organized or coherent, but instead rambling and manic. We were instructed to pickup the dog at 8am in West Chester, NY— An area that is about 2 hours from our home. My husband had to take the day off of work to accommodate this request, which was very different from the plan that was previously discussed. While we love our new dog, we very quickly learned that he was not house broken, had a few health issues, and most importantly, had MAJOR behavior issues. Since discovering all this it has been a difficult few months. Along the way it’s been incredibly challenging to communicate with Save Some Souls. To start, a few weeks in we called to learn more about our dogs’s behavior issues. Suddenly his rescue story changed from “He lived with one family,” to “He was passed around to multiple families.” We quickly realized that this dog has had a traumatic life, made more traumatic by his time with Save Some Souls. While we want to do everything in our power to help him, Trisha has been difficult, aggressive, and sketchy (for lack of a better work) the whole way through. We’ve regularly asked to speak with someone else as her communication skills are lacking. Trisha won’t honor our requests, which leads us to believe that she is the only one working at this “rescue.” After weeks she finally connected us with a women in a different state who could only say that she had "adopted from the rescue before." She confirmed that Trisha was the sole person in charge. Upon further investigation, the “rescue” is registered to a building that houses an acting school that she’s linked to. Based on the very high adoption rate we paid, we’re starting to realize that Trisha gets dogs from shelters and sells them for a high price tag. After reading other posts, it seems like many of Save Some Soul’s dogs have been returned over the years— Probably because the rescue isn’t forthcoming about their needs and issues. I caution everyone to stay away from this company. In Trisha’s emails we’ve been accused of horrible things (not loving our dog, not being able to afford our dog, etc.). We’ve also witnessed her spreading lies (She told the trainer we’re working with that we are returning the dog. She also told us that the trainer no longer wants to work with our dog— Both untrue). She’s constantly blaming and approaches every situation with aggression. She also promised to pay for in-person training and then aggressively said this was a lie and that promise was never made. Bottom Line: This is not a legitimate non-profit. There are plenty of properly run organizations that rescue dogs. Please find one that is operating correctly and save yourself a lot of trouble/ support one that is above board.
