Description Effective September 20th, the ASPCA Adoption Center will encourage a $150 suggested donation when adopting an animal. This donation allows the ASPCA to continue our lifesaving work and help even more animals in need. We are grateful for any and all contributions made at the time of adoption.

Some of the kindest and hardest working staff and volunteers are here. Animals in need of a good home get care from skilled veterinarians behavior specialists, and often loving fosters so that they're ready to go into a forever home. Please consider adopting here first rather than buying from a pet store. Foster Fortune: as an option, think about fostering a cat or dog first! The process was wonderful- you get free training and all the essential supplies the animal needs. The other gets away from the business of a shelter, and you get to learn about each other. And... If you're lucky like me, you'll find a lovely match, and a first shot at giving the animal a forever home. The sweet cat I adopted, despite the rough start in life she had, is the sweetest, snuggliest cat I've ever met, and I believe that's in part to the kindness she experienced at ASPCA. Sharing a photo of another cutie that was in the window today. I wish I lived closer to volunteer here, truly a great place. Bonus: the entry is accessible, with a ramp inside on the left. I do recommend calling and getting on their newsletter, rather than just showing up.
Adopted our cat from this ASPCA & we had such a great experience . Cindy helped us through the entirety of the adoption process . Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful . I like that you basically get interviewed before seeing any animals and then they pair you with who they think is a good fit . This way is a lot less overwhelming for you and the animals. Aspca called us a few times after the adoption to check in and see how things were going which I appreciate . Thanks again to Cindy and everyone at ASPCA !
My family had adopted a dog from the ASPCA back in 2008. Her name was Faye, and the 14 years we had together were full of love and joy. Now, as an adult, I was ready to bring home a new family member. I put an application in for a dog named Earl, and after the second meet and greet, Earl was ready to come home. Earl has made himself at home, and he's already made so many positive changes in my life. The ASPCA are doing such great work. This is the start of a beautiful friendship.
I love the ASPCA. All staff are very friendly, helpful, and informative. I met my best friend Zora there. Thank you to the ASPCA for introducing me to Zora, and allowing me to take her home. She loves her new life🩷
I had a great experience working with the ASPCA to adopt my furry friend. I filled out an application on Thursday, was contacted for an interview on Saturday, spoke to the vet and was able to meet/pick him up by Monday. They did a really good job of understanding me and my particular wants/needs with a dog. While the dog I initially applied for wasn’t a good match, they were able to connect me with an incredible dog who fits my lifestyle perfectly. They did a really good job of preparing me to understand my dogs specific needs. They provided documentation on his medical history and supplied me with 2 weeks worth of toys, treats, and food. They checked in with me periodically after the adoption to continuously offer resources. I would definitely recommend going through ASPCA to adopt your new furry friend.
After my best bud Jackson died of Cancer, I decided I would adopt an older cat. The picture of her was not what I opened the carrier to when I brought her home. I called them thinking they must’ve given someone’s cat that was there for surgery. They told me that was the same cat?? I wound up with a feral 14 yo cat with cancer. I had to pay two Vets, one for blood work and the next for X-rays. After $1600.00 and being attacked by this cat, the Vet finally agreed to put her down. I wanted to be in the room, but because she was so vicious she was actually euthanized in the back room. They brought her into the room and laid her on the table and told me they needed sedate because she was so feral. ASPCA was amazing! They actually sent me a check for $325.00 for the euthanasia. DO NOT EVER ADOPT FROM THEM!!! You will wind up with a sick animal. They don’t care! Those commercials on tv are despicable. They’re so busy video taping all these suffering animals? How about you turn off the camera and actually save their lives??
