I wanted to take a moment to express great thanks to Heath Diamond and his team at VCA Prestonwood Animal Hospital. With heavy hearts, we had to have one of our beloved pets euthanized. It's never easy to make that decision, but Heath and his team showed great care and compassion during the entire process. We were provided with estimates offering services and options of aftercare and pricing was very affordable. Even with a busy Monday afternoon, they were able to accommodate and meet our needs without delay or inconvenience. Every person we met with were comforting, poised and never made us feel rushed or uneasy. I know there have been comments made regarding concerns since they've been bought out by VCA, but I'm here to tell you it's the same family oriented, compassionate and friendly staff they've always been, with true care and best interest at heart when it comes to animal welfare. If you are in need of a trusted staff to care for your pets, please consider VCA Prestonwood Animal Hospital. 💕

When my pet died he was honestly like my best friend, I was devastated absolutely just didn’t want to get out of bed so depressed and didn’t know where to bury her at. She was a member of the family I couldn’t just throw her in the trashcan and because I live in an apartment complex I could exactly bury her in the backyard either. It was just another devastating blow that I didn’t know how to handle. This pet Hospital is in walking distance from where I live and I pass it every day so I thought maybe I would go in and ask if they knew what the laws were here in Houston about burying a pet. They were extremely kind and understanding. They offered to cremate her and let us have the ashes. It was much more affordable than I thought it would be. And they were just so extremely kind and empathetic that I really wish I had come here sooner. I highly recommend this clinic for all your domestic pet needs.

People are extremely rude. Didn't care at all about what I had to say or anything about my dogs emergency. He can't even walk! Had no sympathy or anything just said "aww sorry about that. Well we only have 2 in doctors in surgery today, and can't get you in til way later." Will not recommend this place to anyone. Was absolutely disgusting how rude, and unsympathetic the lady sounded on the phone. I'm so glad I've never took my pet here. They don't care about your pets here. Just your money and the lady on the phone made that very evident.

Support staff and veterinarians here are very caring. Our 15 pound mixed breed has been coming here for over eight years. Whether a routine visit or a needed medical visit our canine gets excellent care.

I was going to leave 3 stars until I realized that they never even did his heartworm preventative injection today, when I said do everything he's due for in April. This was the most annoying visit to date I have had at this vet. Every time I bring my dog we have to wait for more than 20 minutes to be seen. Today, after 20 minutes they brought Bubba for his blood draw, but the technician brought my dog back to me in the room after they had him a few minutes and said "did they say if you could leave after the blood draw?" I asked "well did you do his vaccinations?" No, they had not, so she said "oh you must have an appointment." So I waited another 45 minutes with no one communicating with me at all. I had to walk up to the front desk and tell them I've been waiting 45 minutes, is the vet still coming? (they thought I was ready to check out). They came back and said the vet is in an emergency surgery and will be back in ten minutes. Okay, after I show how displeased I am, you finally decide to go find out why I'm still waiting to be seen? They could have told me 30 minutes ago and I would have waited outside and went for a walk. Not sat in the room that my dog already has anxiety about being in! He was whining for an hour about being there, nervous and ready to go. Then they came back and said it will be another five minutes. So 1 hour and 10 minutes later, and I'm still waiting to be seen. I believe that the vets get paid commissions or incentives to dispense prescriptions, so while some vets (Dr Kennedy who is no longer there) had provided both holistic and prescribed options for my dog's arthritis, I felt like the vet today (Dr. P) was trying to sell me something that was the latest and greatest. I will assume innocence here, but just expressing how it made me feel. The exam they did was thorough, which I appreciated. Dr. P took time with my dog after us having to wait over an hour. I just wish they had better communication. The assistant who said she was helping Dr. P with the emergency surgery owned up to it and said it was her fault, she was just too busy to come tell me, and apologized. I have been going there for more than 2 years now, but will consider another vet closer to me for the future since Dr. Kennedy is no longer there anyways. I don't feel like they know me or my dog, and much less care to remember us, we are just another bill to be paid and don't feel they are the best choice for me and my Beabull, Bubba, when we show up ahead of our appointment, but were left waiting over an hour with zero communication. $360 later, including a $77 office visit, I am not paying that much for 15 minutes of routine vaccinations and a routine annual exam. I was there and checked in at 3:55 pm (appointment at 4:00 pm) and we didn't check out until 5:20 pm. And he was due for his Heartworm preventative, but they NEVER even did it.... So now I have to go back there AGAIN for his heartworm preventive, just to avoid an annual exam fee at another vet because this one can't seem to get it together.

They have a wonderful helpful and patient staff and every doctor is exceptional! They helped create a care plan for our bulldog with spina bifida when another vet told us to put him down, we are 4.5 years in and it only happened with their support! We have been through 5 dogs at this vet and will not take our animals anywhere else!
