Description BluePearl Pet Hospital in Jacksonville, formerly known as Affiliated Veterinary Specialists and North Florida Veterinary Specialists, is a 24 hour emergency vet and specialty animal hospital open 7 days a week and 365 days a year including holidays. We are equipped with specialized tools and technology for life-saving care, including a CT scanner, MRI, ultrasound, in-house lab work, an advanced surgical suite, blood products, oxygen therapy, electrocardiogram and fluoroscopy. We also offer veterinary specialty care including critical care, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, oncology, and surgery. If your pet is experiencing an emergency, call us right away.

I could not thank Blue Pearl, specifically at Baymeadows & Orange Park Jacksonville, Fl locations, for their outstanding care and compassion they gave to my puppy Taz and myself. They truly stepped up and I am not just referring to the wonderful technicians/nurses and veterinary doctors and surgeons as well as speciality surgical team but also the management outside of vetinary care. My puppy was horrifically attacked by a pit bull that I believe was trained for this behavior as I am an advocate for pit bulls so whoever may read this please understand the actions of this dog was done by the owner and how he trained his dog to behave and attack and not how a well trained pit bull would be. With that being said it was an awful injury on a 20lb dog/puppy that required specialty surgical services. Emergency care can be quite expensive as most of us know but the schooling it takes to get to help pets like my little dude (Taz) is years longer and harder than a doctor for people. As we would want for ourselves most of us also want that great care for our pets that are family to us. My point is Taz’ injuries were quite severe and in a difficult location as well but there was no option for me to euthanize; that was not going to happen. After I exhausted all my financial sources and he was no where even close to on the way to recovery, I didn’t know what to do, especially not being from this area. Much to my surprise not only did the upper management staff and lead surgeons discuss options for us and Taz to recover but also helped me find funding to cover what I could not. My undying gratitude to Frankie’s Friends for the help financially to cover his second surgery and Blue Pearl for not giving up on my little dude and for the ongoing care treatment you are giving him now. I highly recommend Blue Pearl for the care of your pets and hopefully it is not in an emergency situation like we went through but for annual care and check ups with one of their amazing vetinary doctors and vetinary technicians. Everything from the time you walk in until the time you leave is done with the upmost professional conduct and care one would want or expect to be given.

While the care and contact with the staff was good, I felt like I was buying a car…negotiating the cost and care of my very sick cat. This review should not be a surprise to them, as this feedback was provided to them when I picked up my cat to take them to another care provider. Updated to respond to their response: Understood. The doctor told me it would probably be a 7 - 10 day stay. The tech/nurse/ brings in a price quote/estimate. After reading it, I asked how many days it covered and she tells me for 3 days; this is, in my opinion not good. What if I had not asked this question?

I cannot sing enough praises about this ER pet hospital..Both Locations. Between the front of the house and the magic in the back of house the staff, nurses and surgeons are not only phenomenal but compassionate. The monitoring, filling us in every step of the way. They took the best care of our cat that had been severely mauled by a dog. He did have to have his bladder re affixed, abdominal wall secured, colon sutured and leg amputated....but they waited till he was stable and everything was a success. Dr.Morton and Dr.Martinez were just outstanding in his care☀️💕🙏🫶🌸
