Sadly, this amazing organization will be ceasing adoption operations after the races stop in Florida, but they're responsible for placing awesome dogs like my Zephyr (formerly known as Lifer) in loving homes all over Jax and beyond. So grateful for their work and assistance. I picked him up two days ago and he is already a dream.

The volunteers working at Greyhounds as Pets are so nice and helpful. They guided us in our first Greyhound adoption and it went so well that we went back 2 weeks later to get our second one! We adopted our first Greyhound, a female, in October and the same day met a male that would be the perfect companion for her. Now we have 2 precious pets.

We just picked up Ms. Minnie, our new greyhound, today and she is already taking to her new surroundings! Greyhounds as Pets of Northeast Florida was incredibly helpful throughout the entire adoption process, and has helped us find our forever family member! They answered any and all questions we had, gave us tips and tricks for care, and have made themselves available to us if we have any questions or concerns in the future. I encourage anybody interested in adopting a retired racer to reach out to them.

Greyhounds make excellent pets. If they are products of the greyhound racing industry, they may need extra care due to injury or abuse. They ate naturally docile, gentle, and eager to please which the racing industry takes full advantage of. If you are ready for a pet in your life, the greyhound is a very good choice. As mentioned before, Greyhounds are sensitive, and those retired or rescued from the racing industry may need a little extra tender loving care which will be returned to the caregiver threefold.

Fabulous place. We got our baby in October. He is so smart and sweet. They people there are great. We drive from above Savannah , Ga. to Jackson, FL. To board him because they take such great care with him. There are always lots of greyhounds there to play and run with.
