There was a dog right across the street from the facility and the people here were absolutely no help. Laughing and pointing getting in their cars leaving for work but doing nothing about it. I had to call actual animal lovers to come handle the situation. They are inadequate. They should rename themselves, no protection happening here. We asked if we could retrieve the dog off of the private property and bring it over since that was their main concern for not retrieving the animal, they said they would still not take him. Obviously, the private property was not the issue. It was their neglect. The dog as well as their facility is right off of the highway. Poor baby was unkept and had a huge mass on its tail, no collar. If you’re not in it for the animals, you’re in it for the money and that’s disgusting. Find a new job. If you regularly take your beloved pet here, I would think twice. Personally, I would want somebody who cares for all animals so I know that they would have my pets best interest. DISGUSTING.

A few days ago my family went to look at kittens. When I got off of work they told me all about this super cute kitten and I very excitingly asked if they got him. Fast forward 2 days and Kai is now apart of the family living his best life thanks to the wonderful staff of this facility!

Lots of people are paid to work at acps but they're also a lot of volunteers. I cannot in good conscience give it five stars because I know they're not maximizing what they could be doing with their donations. Minor observation is enough to know that. But don't you dare give any of them a hard time - volunteers or workers. What they see on a daily basis most people could not handle. They are doing the best they can. Everything can be going very well when suddenly you hear about a hoarding case of 100 dogs. So go in there with patience.

I've lived in lots of places, large & small, but this is the BEST city service imaginable! Dedicated staff, humane treatment of the animals, loving volunteers and excellent programs like Dog Day Out & fostering & Thunder Buddies. Just so worthy of our support - find your next live at ACPS ❤️
