It’s amazing how much this rescue does for the Akita breed. Dorie is forever helping people and answering questions on top of taking care of the overwhelming number of Akitas in her care. They are her #1 priority and it shows. She has dedicated her life to helping this breed. This rescue is top notch and takes extra care to be sure Akitas are placed in the RIGHT home, not just any home. You are cherished!

Best experience ever. Adopted my Heart 💖 Akita and was able to bring him home with me to California. When I grow up I want to be just like Dorie Sparkman and run a great Akita Rescue too!

We have adopted several dogs from ARSF - each one a perfect match for our pack thanks to Dorie and how hard she tries to match the right dog to the right home! We are so happy with each and every one of our new additions over the last 10 years! Dorie is wonderful and though she is extremely busy taking care of so many akita orphans in need, she makes the time to talk to us whenever we need her. She and her volunteers have always been more than helpful in all of our adoptions. We highly recommend ARSF!!

This Akita Rescue has been a blessing for both future Akita parents and Akitas since 1985 ! They work extensively to care for the Akitas and make sure they are a perfect fit for the adoptive parents!!!
