This was our first time. They made baby and I feel extremely comfortable. My baby wasn’t upset as a matter of fact we went bragging about the care and how inexpensive it was 10 out of 10 recommend

I love this place, been coming for years but it really not affordable anymore. This review has nothing to do with the vet office but more with the Thrive Membership, I was not told by getting the membership I would have to pay a monthly fee of $14.95 for a whole year. I did email them and let them know I was not aware of the conditions , they contacted me a month later, and told me they would do a reversal cancellation. That was a month ago and I am still waiting for a response but while I wait they continue to charge me. All I’m saying is don’t get the membership unless you want to pay the price for a whole year, even if you don’t use it. I no longer go to this vet clinic, it’s way to pricey which is the reason I wanted to cancel the membership. I did make a dispute with my bank, hopefully I get this issue resolved on my banks end.

More than two years ago we took our German Shepherd, Bella, in for annual shots and nail trimming. They sent us away with a second appointment and a prescription to sedate her for the trimming because of her aggressive behavior. After going home and discussing this with my wife we decided if they had that much difficulty with Bella they should not be trusted to care for her. We have never returned to this location for any future service for Bella. Large dog owners beware.

I was denied treatment twice for my dog because of her growling and severe anxiety of coming to the vet. The first appointment lead to no treatment because my dog growled at the staff and was labeled as "aggressive". I was prescribed by another veterinarian and location to get Trazodone (a sedative) to help combat my dog's anxiety. With this medication, I figured it would help with my appointment at Thrive. I made a new appointment with the Eldrige location, but we feared rejection again, so we called ahead of time and asked to switch locations to a different Thrive center for an appointment. Over the phone, the staff was very kind and assuring that we would get treatment done at the Eldridge location so long as we provide our dog with the sedative. I heard from staff before that one of their staff members got bit by a dog and that their staff were really on edge with dogs ever since. So before my appointment, I went ahead and bought my dog a cage muzzle to also help alleviate some stress. I make it to the appointment early and talked to the Clerk. The clerk was very kind, professional, and hospitable. She took us to the room to wait for a vet tech. The vet tech, Tiffany, walked in and my dog gave a single low growl because of her fear of the Vet. Tiffany INSTANTLY explained that my dog was "too aggressive" and will not be receiving any treatment due to her notes of her previous appointment. To be specific, at no point in either appointments did my dog show teeth, snap, nip, bite, lunge, or do any other sign of aggression. The only thing she did was give a low growl. Frustrated, we explained how we followed the instructions given to us for this visit and how we were assured over the phone by her coworkers that we were going to get treatment. Tiffany still refused to do anything, let anyone else look at my dog, all while calling her aggressive. I just had to walk out and find a different vet. My dog has zero history of biting or scratching anyone. I did everything within my power to make this process as easy as possible for both parties. I just want to get my dog her medication... My family feels that Tiffany exaggerates her claims. All-in-all, this location wasted my time twice and I believe they have a prejudice against scary looking dogs (my dog is a medium sized doberman mix). Although the front-staff is very kind, there is much to say about how a single vet-tech (Tiffany) can completely screw you over.

We had to use their end of life care package. For such a heartbreaking time the staff was extremely supportive, caring and understanding. They explained the process in detail and gave us all the time we needed. All questions were answered thoroughly. Staff answers the phone promptly and is very welcoming. Thank you!

I have been coming here since 2018, but I agree that it is no longer affordable. When I use to take my dogs here the vet did the examination in the room with you, now they take them in the back and come back and explain the price more in detail instead of everything surrounding the condition. Like I said when I came here a while ago the doctor showed me the teeth that needed the type of care and explained in detail what they needed to do and then explained the cost. I do not like what they do now by taking them in the back and making the care taker wait in the examine room, show me what I am being charged for and what the levels are of his needed care. I came to get my dogs teeth looked at which I knew he would need a serious dental cleaning, they quoted me for 800-1000$ for a 5 1/2 pound dog and that was not including extractions. I also didn’t like that the exam did not include, x-ray, or blood work which would provide more information on what type of cleaning he would need. It’s like with human teeth, you get X-rays to see which teeth can be saved but it seemed like I wouldn’t know until after the surgery starts. After I told my friend the price she recommended I shop around and man I’m glad I did, a lot of other places are charging literally close to the 2-400 $ range which is reasonable and some of these places included extractions with that price, but all included anesthesia for that price as well. I get that everything is expensive right now but these prices were just ridiculous, and to have an examination fee at basically 60 dollars when other places are charging 15-30 is ridiculous. I’m glad I did my research , sucks because this place is close and I paid so much less 3 years ago when I took my other dog for a teeth cleaning with extractions here and it was around 400. Now I just can’t do that price and I don’t want my dog to suffer so I am glad there are other options in Houston that I can take my dog to next week and make sure he gets the dental surgery he needs.
