If you have a small inkling that you might have an emergency, DO NOT bring your fur babies here!!! We brought in my cat Duke this past Tuesday (1/30/24). He was panting. We paid our office visit and went to the back room. A girl had us hold him to be able to take a rectal temperature. It stressed him out so bad that he couldn't breathe at all. The lady who worked there just stood there and watched him as he was struggling to breathe. I screamed at her to go get the doctor. I had to drop to the floor to try to give him CPR. And he died right in front of us. I went to the hall and was screaming where was the doctor?! And the lady at the front desk screamed back at me that the other lady was getting him. Very rude and no empathy at all! I was frantic and crying. It took the doctor forever to reach us and by the time he did all he did was confirm that our baby died. I was screaming and crying and they just left the office and said nothing. We put our baby back in his carrier and left. Will NEVER go here again. It was an absolute traumatic experience. Please don't bring your fur babies here if they are sick. We learned the hard way. RIP to our baby Duke.
My puppy had a problem with his left eye and the doctor performed a test that showed he had a scratch in his eye. I was very impressed.
I took my fur baby in not knowing that she would need emergency surgery. The team at Abbott Animal Clinic immediately took great care of her and for that I am grateful. Thanks to all the wonderful staff there from Coco and I.
Worst clinic to bring your animal to! If you care about your pet, do them the courtesy of NOT GOING HERE. They will turn away a dog dying in your arms for starters. Secondly, the vet is so old that he does butcher jobs for surgeries, especially with spay/neuter jobs. Why anyone would want to sacrifice their animal here is beyond me. This place needs to be shut down for good. Dogs in daycare come up stolen, just read the reviews and listen to the public! I will also be contacting the Texas Board of Veterinary to submit a formal complaint against this location.
DO NOT BRING AVIAN EMERGENCY, PLEASE BRING IT TO GOLF COAST VETERINARY SPECIALIST!!!!! Half of the staffs there have no idea what is going on. They'll run tests that you'll never get a result of. Brought my pet parrot there for a bruised leg, and run up 3 lab tests and some meds. My parrot got so drugged up by their prescription, fell and broke its leg. Then they recommend me to a specialist with the test results that was still unavailable, and that's the last I heard from them. Never got any call about any test results, or the reason why those test was needed.
All staff at Abbott have been courteous, friendly, and helpful! The facility has been spotless and odor free. I appreciate their willingness to work with the rescue group I represent. They never turn us away...even when we bring in extremely rough street dogs! Thank you again!
