Great place for those in need. We were also able to have our small children volunteer over the Christmas break. We hope to help more In the future.

Terrible place. Homeless individuals are called overcomers. But what you need to overcome is the blatant bigotry and callousness of some of the volunteers. Spill 6 drops of coffee? You get screamed at and bullied in front of everyone in the dining room [and not just once, over and over and over]. Your case manager doesn't like you? You are told you don't get to eat lunch [and not just one day]. No professionalism whatsoever. There appeared to be different 'rules' for different people. No consistency in anything and extremely obvious bigoty. And that's a sad thing to say for a organization that calls itself Christian.

Sweet Jesus. I almost had to bail my spouse out with the way they treated us dropping off DONATIONS. Angry gate guard bullying and badmouthing after we CALLED to ensure we were allowed to drop off blankets and bulk dry goods to use, yelled and hollered they dont take clothing after repeatedly telling him it was blankets and food, then have the same hostility and bullying trying to give it to the people that came out, only ONE of which had the kindness to greet my spouse coming in. They then had the audacity to try and TRAP MY SPOUSE IN THEIR PARKING LOT when he decided it wasnt worth the ridiculous fight over BLANKETS AND FOOD, and left the donations in front of the center in the box to do what the will with it. If this is how they treat donors, who once again, CALLED TO CONFIRM WHAT THEY TAKE FOR DONATIONS, I cannot imagine trying to ask for help in an emergency situation. Get yourselves right, and find better staffing - this is the reason people don't want to help your shelter. Hostile, angry, uncooperative and dangerous. Find a better donation center.

Gods Grace and Mercy is sufficient. He has blessed us with this safe haven that allows us time and a place to hear from God. He has blessed us with an awesome staff of His people to speak life into, pray for us and walk along side of us until deliverance takes the place of brokenness. I am and will forever be greatful for God and the work He does through all of the people of City Rescue Mission. The staff, the donors, the volunteers and the people who pray for us daily. Thank you, and may God bless you all greatly.

Horrible experience. When you go there the whole nonsense about the Bible is a front they use for more money. The place is run like a prison and they do not care. You walk in and they take everything you own and dump it into a shopping cart not caring if anything is damaged and not realizing that usually that is everything a person owns. Next you get taken up stairs and told to strip to your underwear and are given prison issue clothes and having to take a shower. Now some of us needed it and some of us did not. The process was the issue. Nothing like being treated like you are in prison with a five minute shower and it takes four minutes for the water to even get tolerable to take a shower. Then you get yelled at until you get finished and then sit out in the area waiting for the others to finish and you sit there freezing from the half cold half hot water and then wait to down to find your bed. You then find your bed and lay in it until it is time to eat and then you head downstairs for the meal that usually consists of one meat that is rotted and some bread that is even more rotted. Nothing is practically edible so you make do with the best of it and still end up hungry. Then back upstairs to wait for the guy to yell at you and have you come downstairs for the message of the day which in this case was him telling us he was a crack addict and came around to be able to buy a mercedez and we then heard about this mercedez for the rest of the sermon and by the end of it I knew more about the car than the dealer. Then we got another snack of moldy something and we headed up stairs to bed where it was lights out at 9:00PM and woke up at 5:00 and breakfast of moldy bread and cereal and out of date yogurt. Then we were sent out of the place till the end of the day. Luckily I was set up to not come back there but there was two assaults and a rape and I feel that if that place was the place of God then God abandoned it a long time ago. That place should be shut down or given better leadership.

When I show up at 6pm with a car full of blankets I collected on the coldest night of the winter and get turned away and told to take them to a Salvation Army on Normandy, you can best believe I took them somewhere else. The good folks at Trinity Rescue were MORE than happy to receive them.
