Everyone at Banfield has been amazing and very professional. We have had to take our cat in a couple of times each week and Dr. Shepard has been so caring, professional and so loving to our boy. He requires a certain bandage and each time she sees him she makes sure he has the best wrapped bandage to go home in. We will only see Dr. Shepard here. The Wellness plan in my opinion has been well worth it. We have had three animals on the plan and it pays for itself. Just remember you always have the option to say no and deny services for any type of care. You have to make your best judgement with your fur babies and bringing them to Dr. Shepard has been great for us.

They are ALWAYS very kind. I rarely come here because it’s just more expensive than everywhere else. I’ve noticed you get what you pay for. The doctors and techs and even the receptionist are all super kind. They show they care. The waiting room is never crowded showing they prefer quality of care rather than making money. It’s clean. They made me feel comfortable by listening to my needs while also trying to help my old yorkiepoo. I brought one of my old dogs here to put her down several years ago they kind them as well. Consistent top care and compassion. This is the vet I’d choose every time.

Very dedicated Team! Always providing the best medical care for my dogs. Banfield Pet Hospital has been our best choice to treat our dogs since 2001. Love our veterinarian doctor Shepherd and her team.

First impressions are really good. I found all the employees extremely pet first people. They seemed highly interested in each little furry heart that came in the door. The facility was immaculate and modern.i loved the Dr. VERY CARING AND HONEST . I appreciate her complete follow thru. I would recommend San Pablo location for sure. Amazingly it was not cookie cutter but very personal and welcoming.

This place does not even deserve one star. I brought my perfectly healthy 6 year old bulldog in for a follow up on her conjunctivitis. I was told that she has a hematoma on her ear and that they would have to put her under to drain it. I expressed concern and said I was not comfortable putting her under due to her breed. I was assured by Ali that it was “no big deal” and that “she was healthy and would breathe better than she ever had”. I still expressed concern and I was assured that it was safe and that if it were here own dogs she would do the same thing. In the meantime she convinced me to upgrade my plan and do a teeth cleaning on her and that they could take care of it first thing in the morning. I was never explained any risks involved nor did I sign anything explaining the risks. Ali said that they would run all the necessary tests to make sure it was safe to put her under, and due to my concern they would call before they put her under and let me know that everything was ok. I never received a call until the procedure was over. The call was from Dr Powers who I had never laid eyes on or spoken to. She explained that my dog had been heavily panting but that they were monitoring her and her lungs were clear. I took her home where she eventually stopped panting but was very uncomfortable. Her follow up appointment was the next day and I ended up just putting her in the car and taking her in early. She was not breathing right, would not eat, drink or even sit down. They took her in the back and then Dr Powers came out and said she needed to go to the emergency vet, she suspected that she had pneumonia. This was the first time I had ever seen Dr Powers. They never let you go back with your pet so you honestly don’t know what is happening. They are the professionals and I trusted what they said. I immediately took her to the emergency vet where my dog died 5 hours later. Now I have been charged for the $600 procedure that killed her, the $1700 emergency vet bill and the $360 cremation. My family is sick and heartbroken, just a senseless tragedy that never should have happened. She didn’t even need her teeth cleaned! I trusted them and now the only compassionate people there are the office staff. Ali didn’t even have the decency to look at me or speak to me when I went in to pick up my dogs medical records, but she sure didn’t have a problem acting like I was over reacting to the anesthesia! I was pushed into this without even having enough time to comprehend what was happening. STAY AWAY FROM BANFIELD!

The veterinary staff went above and beyond to make both me and my cat comfortable. Dr. Powers takes the time to sit next to me and thoroughly explain what is going on, and all of my available options. I didn’t catch the veterinary assistant’s name but she told me that she held my cat while they waited on tests to be conducted and even gave her a “reward.” It made my day so much better. I highly recommend Banfield on San Pablo.
