I fostered 4 dogs with Waldo’s Rescue and adopted one from them! The adoption process was super easy and adopting a dog really changed my life for the better. Fostering is such a fulfilling experience as well, I was so happy to be able to make a difference in these pups lives even if it was just for a few weeks. I’m grateful I was able to help them find a home and give them a safe space to decompress from their trauma. I couldn’t recommend them more! Two of my friends have adopted dogs from Waldo’s as well :) Fostering is hard work but so worth it. These dogs deserve a second chance and I’m so glad Waldos was able to help me find my best friend and first pet ever at 25!

This is not just a rescue, but a matchmaking service for pups. As adopters with small children and cats, our coordinator was careful to consider our needs. She set us up with dogs we liked without hesitation, but they didn’t fit our family when we met. The coordinator kept suggesting one particular dog, and it turns out that he was the best match! She understood our needs better than we did and truly knew the personality of each pup. The foster parent was so kind and provided a care package of pups favorite treats when we picked up. I would definitely recommend Waldo’s!

Waldo's Rescue and their foster community is really special in the city. I fostered several loving dogs plus adopted one of my own from Waldo's, and felt supported each step of the way. I've experienced their leadership to care deeply about the each rescue pup and are willing do anything it takes to ensure their health and safety. They have volunteers groups masterfully manage transports, adoptions, fosters, fundraising social media, and events! Waldo's is a foster-only network, meaning there is no physical shelter for the dogs but rather a network of caring individual who take them into their homes. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to adopt make a difference through fostering :)

I have fostered 3 dogs with Waldo’s now and my brother adopted the first dog I fostered. They are a great organization and do their best to save as many dogs as possible. They are very responsive and there to help throughout the whole process. Volunteering with them was one of the highlights of my year.

I have fostered over 30 dogs with Waldo’s! This rescue is organized, honest, and does amazing work finding dogs their forever homes. We aim to save every dog we can from kill shelters, when they arrive in NYC they are shown nothing but love and happiness all around them. Our volunteers work hard day and night to make sure the dogs are safe & the fosters have every question answered. If you are looking to foster or adopt, can’t suggest this rescue enough!!

Waldo's Rescue Pen is the best! Unlike other rescues, which require an in-person home check, which limits adopting a rescued dog in need, Waldo's accomplishes this very important part of the adoption process through video and a phone interview. Because of this, I was able to adopt a wonderful dog from Waldo's Rescue Pen and give him his forever home, even though Waldo's is based in NYC and I'm in Ohio (note: Waldo's was very clear I was responsible for traveling to NYC to pick up my precious pup). The adoption process was thorough, which I appreciated, and I was given plenty of information to make the very important decision of adopting a new rescue pup. I felt very supported both during and after the adoption, and keep in touch with my pup's foster parents with regular updates and photos. I'm so happy to be part of the Waldo's Rescue Pen family and can see myself adopting another pup from Waldo's in the future.
