BARC is a good place for adoption and foster opportunities. Definitely visit. Cost effective for anyone who wants to adopt, do wellness, foster a pet. They have high amount incoming animals, less people to manage. Foster program is good , I have been a foster for 6months. I do not like pets getting down and believe every pet needs a chance. Yes, like many other shelters in Texas and govn. program this shelter kills and on bad days they kill to keep shelter space. Which I personally hate a lot!! But as a human I try. We should try. Look above two kittens where fostered 3hrs before red list program was suppose to be executed. Now doing well after some care and love. They await for adoption. SPAC is also another place if you plan to adopt. I happily try.

Everyone here was so nice. They staff was very upfront about the pets I was considering. One of them would not have been a good fit for my home and they were open about it. I adopted a little kitty who was a much better fit for me. When we put her in the carrier she had an accident and the young lady in the battery was so helpful. She helped me get the kitty in another box with a towel so just in case….kitty is adjusting nicely. Thank you BARC for helping me with my new family member, Zelda. (Was Rose)

I have adopted several fur babies from this place over the years and I used to think they did a great job. And for adoptions, they do. If you have a naughty cat that can open doors and gets lost, it is a different story. They suck. I've been waiting for almost an hour waiting for someone to come help me. That means I checked in with security, went to desk to ask for help finding out if my cat was here. I was told to sit and wait for an escort. That was 50 minutes ago. Still waiting. If you are thinking of donating money, thing long and hard. They don't handle their resources well (time, labor or money). Fire extinguisher was last checked 8-22. Vending machine is known to be defective as their is a list for stolen money, handicap bathroom is a huge fall risk and not very hanicap friendly. May I suggest donating to the SPCA?

I visited BARC with my daughter to donate stuff that she had left after she had to put her fur baby down. We were so impressed on how grateful they were for the donation. They also gave us a tour of the shelter and again, we were so impressed on clean and organized the shelter was. I highly recommend BARC to anyone that wants to rescue a fur baby of their own.

I am sure they are trying their best in difficult circumstances.------- But when you put out a list of 49 dogs to be rescued or euthanized, and numbers like these aren't uncommon, the director should change their methods. Advertise in the affected community about free spay neuter, and other things that could be done to mitigate this kind of killing. You can get suggestions from nokillcolorado. thanks

These guys were very polite and provided us with a free cat neutering service. They did everything very carefully, and even gave the cat a chip. Thank you very much, you are doing a good job
