Description We were the first shelter in Colorado Springs for cats exclusively. We adopt through the shelter and at several Petsmart and Petco stores locally. Our goal its to provide near as near to gold-standard care as possible in a shelter without a staff veterinarian. We accomplished this through meticulous examination and daily observation so we can quickly take a cat to a general practice vet or one of the specialty veterinarians we use for dental, eye, surgery, dermatology, emergency and internal medicine . We recommend that you check our website for more information on cats that are currently available. Our routine intake and screening includes vaccines, microchips, testing for F IV/FeLV, spay or neuter and treatment for parasites.

We adopted a cat from them 2 years ago, and yes at that time it was a difficult to get a hold of some one to arrange a visit. It was a bit frustrating but we hung in there. However, in recent weeks they've become more active on social media and starting to pick up their presence again. Please give them a chance, as they do amazing work with cats and care deeply for them. It's a volunteer ran organization, so be patient as they're managing a lot with a small staff.

The Cat Cafe was not what I was expecting. I wish I could buy metal chairs and tables for them. This shelter does great work with cats. They are well taken care of. The shelter needs more funding!

My daughter had a fun time playing with the cats. Is a great place for my daughter to be in contact with cats before she is ready to foster one later.

We tried multiple times to schedule an appointment. No returned phone calls or emails as promised on voicemail and website! Only open 4 hours ONE DAY PER WEEK! How does it function? Nobody is ever there! I swear it is a front for money laundering. On an unrelated note, the humane society matched us with the most amazing kitten! Since this joke of a place is impossible to get in touch with any employees.

2 stars only because of my first adoption with them back in 2020 went great and I still have that cat today. I was looking to adopt a pair of siamese littermates this conversation started beginning of June 2023. They stated that the kittens needed to be spayed and given their vaccines when they were of age and I had no issue with that at all. I waited and waited and then they informed me that they weren't ready for rabies vaccines until July and would be ready July 20th at the earliest. Again I had no issue and sent them the required paperwork. July 19th rolls around and one of the kittens has ringworm and adoption for both of them needs to be pushed to when the treatment is finished. Unfortunate but I said it was okay. Now the anticipated adoption is around August. I got an email 3 days ago saying that the dates were mixed up for the treatment and it will be September. I'm frustrated but say it's okay. Yesterday they email me saying they are having second thoughts about adopting the pair together after swearing up and down they are bonded. Saying that there is one of the kittens we wanted and a second one that was available together. I was set on the original 2 and said we could continue to wait and possibly pick up one of the kittens early and wait until the other is well enough. I received an email today from the shelters Director saying that the adoption was not going to work out. As now the kitten with ringworm is unavailable and they won't separate any of the kittens from the litter. Moral of this is if you are looking at one set of kittens be prepared for it to change. I will unfortunately not be adopting from this shelter again.

Not to be dramatic, but I have had a horrible experience with this place. My husband and I found a cat wandering our neighborhood, took her to get tested for a microchip, and they transferred the cat to this place because she did not have a microchip. My husband and I were very interested in adopting this cat, so we called this place over 10 times in a week, with each call going directly to voicemail. The hours on Google vary from the hours on the website. Google says they are open 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays, but their website says they are open 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturdays. We visited their building 2 times, considering they would not answer or return any calls, emails, Facebook messages, or Instagram direct messages. We visited at 9:30 am on a Saturday, and 2:30 pm another Saturday, with both visits being met with a locked door. We called and knocked on the door for about 20 minutes, with nobody answering. There were cars in the parking lot, lights on, and a coat on the hook (could see from the front door) but nobody answered. I am sure they take great care of their cats, but it would be even better if their cats could actually be adopted.
