Great people. My mother broke her ankle on a trail. They came within an hour and I was a couple of miles in the trail. They were very nice and really cared. They really helped my mother and I out. I highly recommend them and thank you for helping!
4 volunteers spoke in their board room to our cub scout pack about 10 essentials, staying put when lost, hiking with the buddy system, and other safety points. They shared their trucks and equipment in the bay and answered questions. We got to meet a search and rescue dog. Great evening for our families!
700,000 of us in El Paso County sleep better every night because we know that this group of super brave (award winning) volunteers has our backs on all of our crazy adventures.
The Barr trail took me out on Wednesday afternoon. A badly broken ankle led to a rescue effort that I'm so incredibly thankful for. This search and rescue team was amazing!! Their ability to work quickly and with calmness really helped me to be at ease with the situation. It's hard to express your thanks in the moment, but I hope they know what heroes they are to me. I hope they are blessed in some way every time they go out to help in the awesome way they do!
My 15 year old son and I got turned around on Pikes Peak and realized we weren't going to be able make it down before dark. The gentleman on the phone was able to verbally guide us and we found our way back to a real trail at dark as we made our way to Barr Camp. The emergency services team found us and got us the rest of the way down about 11 30. These guys went way above and beyond being super servants, Ezekiel and I are so grateful for you Team 1 and Tim. I truly pray you blessed. Many thanks. Greg Wooley
Almost 10 years of Colorado SAR missions and served as a medical director for a fifty man unit . And have been on many missions with El Paso . They train and care about each member being certified to national cert standards . And are called out to truly save life and property . You can be sure your free training and learning of all types of science of search and rescue will be of the highest standards. And often can be called to help with military flights over areas to help find those who truly need to be saved in Colorado Not just in one area . I hope you will consider not only supporting them but consider your skills that can be fit to the level of duty needed by teams . Even in communication or medical training or helping with vehicles . The many parts of the large picture , That goes into such a mission is a chain of efforts that make it successful . Even just being a call out person to alert team members . Your ability to do what you can . Is what will add to the historical duty’s and missions of Colorado SAR teams . And free classes or major discount for certification on the skills you will have for a life time . Besides saving a life is amazing experience . And a avoids the pain of not having a recovery of a loved one for a family . Teaching children to be safe in the wilderness and using hug a tree type classes . As well as leaving notes in cars while hiking and notifying others when out in rapidly changing weather conditions in Colorado . May help the rescue teams like this very well trained unit in Colorado . To help find you if you by any many different ways are hurt or be tested by weather changes that were never reported . This is a unit that trains and helps you to be a very experienced Colorado national sar certified Experienced diverse team player . That will not waste your time or effort. And is like a family . That I have seen in many missions with this very outstanding unit . Many I saw were x military who had a profound experience range in so many topics . That I was always feeling safe and very at hone with all of the members I had the privilege to work with . And this long message is just to honestly express my personal observation from a different team that works with them often . And if I were in that area my first call would be to connect with them and feel great to be with so many great people . And learning even more about Colorado and it’s amazing not often known places that add to a long list of amazing places to explore .
