We love First Avenue Vet Hospital! Our vet Dr. Meltzer is very kind and gives high quality, thorough care to our 2 dogs. Our senior chihuahua has a complicated past medical history and the clinic did a great job calling the multiple other vets he has seen in the past to obtain his records and got up to speed on them before we brought him in. There is a very short wait time to be seen and they keep our anxious pups entertained and distracted with treats while they do their exams. Awesome clinic!

Highly recommend seeing Dr. Meltzer, he was great with our rescue dog. She’s generally nervous around men, and he was very gentle with her and had a calming presence throughout the exam. Dr. Meltzer was very patient with my husband and me, who are generally a little anxious about our new dog, and have a lot of questions. He answered everything and made sure we understood and felt comfortable. The staff at First Ave Veterinary Hospital were all very friendly and helpful, and the facility was clean and modern. Will be taking my dog here for all future appointments!

Bond Vet was too expensive so we took our cat to this more traditional vet place. The vet was attentive but they didn’t end up finding anything wrong with her. I also wished that they could give me a price rundown before running the tests because $450 is a lot for someone like me.

Didn’t know how good a vet could be until I went here. Dr Meltzer was fantastic, my dog fell for him immediately, the technicians were so kind and friendly. Definitely will be taking my dog here going forward. Thanks to them my dog is on the mend

Dr Poller has been taking care of my pets for several years. I have also recently worked with her associate, Dr Temple. They are both great, caring Veterinarians and their staff are always very nice. They were both very responsive when I needed them and they even called in a specialist to consult and do an ultrasound when my dog needed one. The office is always clean and doesn't have that "vet clinic smell." Definitely a great find and great location.

First Avenue Veterinary has been the most reliable Vet I have worked with in New York. They have worked with while traveling International with my dog. They always respond within a day of reaching out to them, keep me a breadth of upcoming vaccinations due for my dog Charlie and are just great with a friendly staff. I'm blessed to have found the best Vet in NYC.
