This past Saturday night I had to take our 5yr old cat to MedVet for what ended up being a urinary blockage. As soon as I walked in & described his issues they rushed him right back as they suspected a urinary blockage which can be fatal if not treated in a timely manner. A vet tech came out in less than 15min to confirm their suspicion of a urinary blockage & to go over the medical plan. The entire staff at MedVet was phenomenal for the 48hrs he was in their care. They proactively provided a medical update daily and took time to answer all our questions. We received a financial call both days letting us know how much of our pre-paid deposit was left & if they expected it to cover the extent of his care. They sent pictures of our boy via text during his stay and they went above & beyond to reassure us that we could call or visit anytime. They did what every business should be doing for its customers: they provided professional, courteous, proactive service with real-time updates from knowledgeable, friendly employees who genuinely seem to care. They clearly understand their customer base & how stressful it is to have a sick or injured pet! Thank you Dr. Bentley, Dr. Simon, Dr. Ruehl and to all the vet techs and administrative professionals. I took my sweet Violet here over a year ago. My mom already wrote her opinion about what happened last year and I was unable to find it. You completely missed the diagnosis of my dog and it cost her her life. She died the next day from kidney failure. I sat in your waiting room for 6 hours and after being told if I wanted her to stay overnight it would be over $2k just for fluids and no tests or treatments I wanted to leave. They told me my dog was fine and to take her to my local vet if I had concerns. The next day she died. I will never be able to return to your place of "practice". I do not recommend either of your places. My dog was dying and you told me she would be okay. Your receptionist were rude, your vets were rude, and you told me my dog would be okay. If you want your animal to live, don't take them here. The second photo is us waiting in your waiting room. The last one is me putting her down because she was dying.

Absolutely the worst veterinary experience I have ever had. I am so upset with myself that I had not taken the time to thoroughly read all of the reviews before bringing my pet here. I was extremely discomforted and grossed out by their entire financial process, if you can even call it that. As many have said here; they seem to prey on the love and support you have for your pet to get as much money as they can out of you. I have a small rodent and they were asking for 1100 dollars to do a small biopsy to see what was wrong. Now that’s not even counting what would come after for treatment. On top of that when I declined and said that I would take my pet elsewhere, they made me pay 200 dollars just for them to say “oh yeah wow looks bad.” I could have just stayed home for that. In the end my pet received no care and looked even worse off when I took them home. Just awful. If you were to ask for my advice I’d recommend you take your loved one elsewhere. The staff were also not polite or helpful either.

Very frustrated with the lack of explanation around billing. We were quoted 1200 for a stay with them before being transported to surgery however when we spoke to the surgeon they charged us $3700. When we reached out to them they explained they were charging us the difference to have her monitored over night. The total cost of a 2 night stay and surgery is less than one night of monitoring. Would not recommend and will absolutely go elsewhere for any future needs.

I had taken my rabbit, Pema, because she was lethargic. I took her to this MedVet and waited about 2 hours just to talk to the vet. I knew I would have a longer wait because it is an emergency clinic. She was given proper medications for what they thought was happening (specifically meds for GI stasis). The reason I am giving this 2 star review is because, while they did give her medication, I had to wait 5 hours or more the first night, and again the next night for about 6 hours or more. Not only that, there were some staff that weren’t very empathetic and kept talking in circles. Every time the doctor came in she would say the same things and then wait another hour. I did not feel cared for which I think is important especially in a time of stress and anxiety. I also didn’t know what was going on half the time because they weren’t clear. Pema is currently still alive and we have decided to take her to the Norton Road Vet Clinic who genuinely care about bunnies specifically.

Our dog has very high anxiety and does not like to go into any vet office. The staff was phenomenal with her and made her feel at ease which made the experience even better. We hope we do not need to use the emergency vet again but if we do, we will definitely be back.
