We had a swallowed stuffed animal emergency in the middle of the night. The Receptionist/Assistant was very Knowledgeable and Friendly. After we arrived, her and the doctor took very good care of our 10 months old Chocolate Lab and they were able to retrieve the stuffy. We were in and out in 20 minutes. Highly recommended!
My father recently had several strokes and so he was in assisted-living facility and my son and I were watching his miniature toy Pomeranian Tootsie. To our horror one day we came home and she was laying on the floor below the stairs. We’re not sure what happened, but she had spinal cord damage, and these folks were the most incredibly compassionate, awesome animal ER I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to three or four of them . Not only did they send me a card signed by everybody in the office Dr. Holly Webber was amazing but they also took a paw print and sent me all the documentation. What a great family of animal lovers this place has. If you live in the Sarasota or Bradenton area and your animal ever needs emergency services, use these people. They treated my dog like theirs great people great company thank you.
I recently visited this emergency clinic with my black lab, whose eye was swollen. Not knowing if it was serious, I decided to err on the side of caution and bring her in. We were seen immediately, and the care from start to finish was exceptional. The vet tech was thorough, asking all the right questions to understand what was going on. The veterinarian was outstanding—she took the time to make my anxious dog feel at ease by sitting on the floor with her, offering treats, and moving slowly to avoid causing stress. She was patient, only beginning the exam once my dog had relaxed. Thankfully, it turned out to be a simple reaction, and her eye wasn’t injured. The care was thoughtful, compassionate, and thorough. We had a fantastic experience and would definitely return if needed in the future.
We were there over the weekend due to my GSD getting my husbands Albuterol inhaler and becoming toxic. The staff and Drs from each shift where amazing!!! They all were super informative on what was going on with our girl. Each of them was kind and caring, it made a bad situation a bit easier. She's since made a full recovery and is home, we do have some follow ups with our RDVM but we are blessed she made it pasted this! (Our sweet Beyla, in the pictures)
Our cat was having an asthma attack. We brought him in for some treatment and new prescriptions. Rudy the vet tech was very helpful and informative. The vet she was great also knowing he had asthma we just told her what was the issue. No one tried over sell us on anything. All of us walked away very happy and our Figaro was back to himself. ❤️🐈⬛
It has taken some time for me to be able to write this review, but when our baby girl started not feeling well and then started refusing to eat we needed to have her seen. Of course it was the Saturday after Fourth of July that she was the most unwell. We took her up from Englewood to visit this ER and were beyond impressed with the immediate care and compassion that the entire staff showed us. I called before we left and were told it would be a 2-3 hour wait as their vets were both in surgery, but by the time we were there and they saw our girl they leaped into action. Dr. McCourt ran the blood tests and took the imaging necessary. She, unfortunately, had to be the one to deliver the worst news to us. Dr. McCourt was so kind and compassionate in explaining that our sweet girl of 13 years had an undetectable tumor on her spleen that had ruptured. The values showed it had likely also moved to her liver and we had to make the choice no pet parent ever wants to make. The entire staff was so compassionate and did literally everything they could have to make us as comfortable as we could have been in the given situation. There was a lovely area of bedding and padding so we could love on our sweet Kirra for a little bit longer before having to say goodbye. We knew it was time when she wasn’t even interested in a Hershey’s kiss. Getting the call to pick up her ashes wasn’t easy either, but the compassion shone throughout. Animal ER at University Park knows how to care and you can feel how much they’re there for their patients. Even when the patients’ parents are feeling it the worst.
