Description Since 2008, we have been dedicated to helping neglected, abandoned, and mistreated dogs and cats in need of loving homes. We started as a small group of animal lovers working out of a garage until Nathan “Nate” Benderson, a local developer with an affinity for animals, caught wind of the group and joined. Nate provided the necessary vision and leadership to establish what is now known as Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue. Today, together with a staff of caring volunteers and an incredibly supportive community, we save thousands of homeless and at-risk animals each year at our eight-acre, no-kill shelter and adoption facility on Lorraine Road.

This place is the most humane animal rescue shelter I've ever seen. The outlay, the setup of interaction to choose your pet is the most amazing I've ever witnessed. We rescued our three pawed pup from here. He was found with his back paw missing. We couldn't leave the place without him. The care they take of these animals is off the charts with love. I'll never forget the day we found the greatest friend and companion. 5⭐ all the way!

I was told by a friend to look at Nate’s honor rescue when I began my search for a new dog. She said her dogs in past had been healthy and happy when rescued from there. The layout of how the dogs are cute indoor/outdoor “cottages”. I went a few times and finally found the right one- Bea! I could tell she was well taken care of by their staff! The staff were wonderful and patient with me. I highly recommend this rescue!

Having just adopted our first rescue from Nate's, I cannot say enough about how wonderful Honor Animal Rescue is. Everyone we have met there from staff to volunteers has been so great to deal with and their love of animals and desire to find them all the perfect home shines through. The process is pretty seamless. They do require an application be filled out in advance of actually seeing the dogs or cats out of their kennels, but this is an important step in making the process run smoothly and in ensuring each rescue finds their best forever home. They want to be sure each dog or cat will be well cared for, as many of these rescues have been through so much trauma already. Also, they want to be sure the rescue will be a good fit for your family. While to some this may seem an extensive process, to me it only shows how serious they are about finding the best homes for these animals. Their FAQ page on their website mentions that the process can take time, especially during a busy weekend which is to be expected. If you are considering adopting a rescue, do your research and go in prepared. Go to their webpage and read up on the process so you know what to expect. There are so many amazing rescues there and all of them deserve to have the best home possible. Honor Animal Rescue is determined to find that home for each and every one of them. I am happy to live in a community where we have a rescue that cares so much about their mission. They save dogs and cats from some horrible conditions, including kill shelters, and give them a second chance at living their best lives. We feel so lucky to have found Honor Animal Rescue and through them our new family member.

We adopted our two kittens about a year ago now. We absolutely love our babies. The adoption process is very thorough and you can tell they care about finding the proper home for these lovely fur babies. People complain about having to answer questions but they don't realize just how many people go out and try to adopt pets that they have no business applying for/end up back in the shelter. This process makes sure to cover all the bases (financial, housing, ability to afford medical care, current pets are taken care of, will be able to spend time with prospective pet, etc) I commend them for all they do and I am actually going to contact them to try and volunteer here. Definitely recommend this facility.

Nates is a magnificent animal rescue shelter. So many dogs and cats of all ages are cared for by dedicated volunteers and staff. These pets need forever homes. Stop by and see the wonderful things that nates honor animal rescue does for these furry friends, and maybe you will find your forever friend.

This establishment is a very nice animal rescue. They are open and will be expanding to enlarge their compound. They take care of the animals rescued by offering pets spay or neutered, vaccinated and large concentration of socializing the animals so when they are adopted, they go into their forever homes forever. The adoption fees are very reasonable. At present time they are less than $100. They are expanding to have a vet clinic on site, event center, children summer day camp, training for the dogs and so much more. They keep the animals waiting to be adopted in a clean environment, well cared, tons of volunteers to assist with socializing them to be adopted in their forever homes and truly a pleasure to see them in a pleasant atmosphere.
