Great facility -bthey try to keep the animals in foster homes so they don't have to spend all their time in the facility (which the shelter itself is pretty nice). I was vetted to be a foster pretty quickly and was able to care for 2 darling puppies. They provide all of the necessities while you care for them I'm looking to adopt one now and continue fostering. Karen has been nothing but gracious and kind throughout this whole process. Even if you're not ready for a pet if you can donate food, toys, beds, etc. you would be doing a great service
So blessed to have found this SPCA. The adoption process was fast, easy and stress free. The facility is clean, fun and friendly, these people are truly doing God's work and saving lives. Thank you SO much Karen & Mary for allowing little "Bella" (now Winnie) in our lives. She is truly a joy to have, and has completed our little family for now. If you're on the edge about adoption. Just remember not only are you saving the life of the animal you're adopting. You're also saving a life, one that is going to replace the animal you adopted. Spay & Nuter your pets people. Adopt. Don't shop.
We were extremely impressed by the friendly staff, clean facilities and how well the animals were cared for despite typical "rescue" conditions. They provided EVERYTHING we needed for a foster pup (overwhelmingly so) making it clear they CARE for the well being of the fur babies. After a week with our foster pup we adopted and that process was just as flawless, providing us with records and the next doses needed to ensure we were set for success. If we had a bigger house we would definitely foster/adopt more from the SPCA!
Friendly, caring people. Clean environment. I was allowed to hold and pet and observe until I found the pet that seemed perfect for me. The staff gave me information and asked questions about my home that helped both of us to be comfortable with my choice They offered follow up care and resources. I was very pleased with my experience.
Best experience you could imagine. Plus, I got a four-legged son that was so fantastic. Highly recommend!
I regret to share my disappointment with the adoption process at the SPCA in Tyler. My mother and I were excited about the prospect of providing a loving home for rescued kittens. However, the experience has been more challenging and frustrating than anticipated. Despite expressing our commitment to offering a caring environment for abandoned pets in our rural area, the process felt arduous. I had hoped that the SPCA, with its mission of finding homes for pets, would provide a smoother and more supportive adoption process. Additionally, the communication and process left much to be desired. I found myself constantly following up, expecting a more efficient and transparent experience. In light of this, I will explore alternative local rescues and shelters. I hope to find an organization where our dedication to rescuing and providing a loving home aligns more seamlessly with their vision. While I acknowledge the challenges of pet adoption, I believe constructive feedback is essential for improvement. I hope others have a more positive experience with the SPCA of Tyler in the future.
