Description No appointment is necessary to bring your pet to the Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City, though we always recommend calling ahead to discuss your pet's condition with a member of our team. We see emergency patients on a triage basis, with the more critical cases being seen first. We know that visiting the emergency room is stressful for both pets and their family, so we remain committed to maintaining open communication with our clients and treating your four-legged friends like they were our very own. We offer diagnostic and treatment options tailored for each individual patient and family developed in conjunction with the family’s individual needs.

Over the past few years we have had to reach out to the Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City twice. Once was for an after hours injury and the other was for when we had an appointment with our regular vet but the cat's condition warranted emergency immediate care. Both times our pets were seen quickly and their care was professional, thorough, and loving. The injured cat was stabilized and we were given a great recommendation for follow on care. The ill cat was examined and diagnosed quickly and efficiently and received excellent treatment. The staff kept us well informed of procedures, costs, results, and options. I'm addition to being very qualified and professional, all of the staff are extremely friendly and kind.
I was here in Maryland working (I live in Michigan) and I always bring my dog with me. She got severely ill during this trip and this emergency hospital was recommended to me. I am so glad! They all were so kind, knowledgeable, and very reasonable in price! I highly recommend this place.
They got our son in immediately. Did a good job and even connected up with our family vet. Thank you. Charles is feeling much better!
Wonderful people here. Our geriatric hamster was not doing well and we brought him in late at night. They were the only place that was open that could see hamsters (exotic). The person on the phone said we could just come in in because it sounded critical. It was a 40 minute drive to get here. We waited a while as there were 2 other pets ahead of us but it wasn't a long wait. The vet, Dr. McKnight, was very kind and recommended an x-ray, but before that could even happen, our hamster passed. The staff was very sympathetic and supportive. They took little footprints for my kids and even little vials of hair. I wholeheartedly recommend this practice!
Everyone was wonderful throughout our whole experience: the front desk, tech assistant and doctor. They were calm, gentle and patient with both me and my dog. I felt very confident in their evaluation and care. Highly recommend.
Very transparent with prices and clearly provide great services. However, they advised me to bring in my dog for a pretty severe ear infection that clearly was not as urgent as they kept telling me. 4 hours and $450 later from 10pm to 2am, twice the bill I would have paid otherwise, and I was really regretting not waiting until the morning to have my dog see his regular vet. Would recommend being a little more realistic and transparent about what constitutes as an emergency so that the pet can get the best possible care for a reasonable cost and in a reasonable amount of time. My dog could have gotten the same care 6 hours later with significantly less costs to money and time, and with a more familiar vet. I wouldn’t have taken myself to the ER for an ear infection, but I took my dog because I was scared and he can’t communicate. Again, just wish they would have advised against it, but the care they provided was great.
