I called the day I was going to bring my pet rat in. I thought he might’ve had a stroke and was freaking out the whole night prior because he had a head tilt. they said they were open and treated pet rats. I came in and rang the bell, but there was no answer. I called the number listed below and she told me a doctor would come in shortly. I waited around 20 minutes outside in the cold with my sick pet rat. They told me that they were short staffed and were running both the clinic and hospital. I filled out some paperwork and got into a room shortly after. Once in the room I waited a long time to be seen. My rat Bobo got weighed by the vet tech and then I proceeded to wait another hour for him to get checked out by the main doctor. Once she came in, she stated that ear infections caused head tilts, swabbed his ear, and prescribed him antibiotics ear drops only. I went home happy and reassured. However, Bobo’s condition worsened. I called 2 days later and she said that since it was new years they were closed and she was leaving for vacation. she would assign a new medication to the clinic the next day. I went to the clinic because I probably didn’t hear that she said tomorrow. She then explained no the next day but I already went home and when I checked the clinic was closed the next day too (tuesday). she gave me the number for Dr. David but he hasn’t gotten to me since. That night my pet rat Bobo started twisting and I took him to an emergency hospital that did not treat exotics where he was put down. I even asked Dr. Sarah if the ear infection could spread to my other rats and she said probably not. While I put down my rat, the doctors who don’t even treat exotics suggested that it might have been a respiratory infection that spread to his ear and that’s why his antibiotics were not working. I ended up taking my other 3 rats today to a different exotics hospital where all 3 got diagnosed with respiratory infections. The bill ended up being cheaper too then what I paid for here. Maybe if I had questioned dr. Sarah more or took my rat somewhere else to get treated, Bobo would still be here playing with his brothers. Overall, very unprofessional and inattentive team here. Please take your pet elsewhere! The photo of him in the red blanket is us cuddling just hours before he was put down. The other one of him the box is his visit here and the last one is my favorite photo of Bobo on my leg. Rest in peace my angel 💔😭😢

I would definitely recommend Dr. Sara from paws and feathers to anyone. This place saved my dogs life. They went out of their way to make sure my dog was healthy when they left their facility. My dogs ovaries were infected and were swollen, and I had them as my second opinion thank God. She found it swiftly determine what the problem was and then she scheduled the surgery for the next morning they actually kept her overnight to make sure she’s doing good. This place is not like other places in Chicago. They are not muddy hungry they are genuinely here to solve the problem. It took her less than three minutes to figure out what was wrong with her and she actually tested her to make sure and confirm. Can’t even measure how grateful I am for paw and feathers coming into my life This is the best place to take your animals. Dr. Sara is highly educated and a super neat with her incisions like we can’t even tell my dog had surgery.

Hands down recommend this place!! The staff when I got in contact with them over the phone were extremely kind. They even called me back to double check if we were coming and what time we were arriving. Once we arrived they were quick with their services. They even called us when the surgery was over for our pup which was around 11:30 pm. They saved my dogs life and I could never thank them enough. *Prices for procedures are way cheaper than other vets! They have a 50% deposit fee!*

I have to thank Dr. Sarah for saving my dog's life. My 7 1/2 year old german shepherd suffered the mother of all dog emergencies called GDV (otherwise known as a twisted stomach/bloat). Happens without warning and if not treated within 1-3 hours, the animal dies due to the stomach being twisted and cutting off all circulation to organs. I am also grateful that Dr. Sarah's emergency clinic was less than 10 minutes away (as opposed to MedVet) and she was able to perform the complicated and challenging surgery before it was too late. Dr. Sarah is a brilliant vet. Kudos to her wonderful staff as well - Aaron, Abbey and Anne - for being there with us for this very scary and panicky time!
