We have been coming here for 3 years now and couldn’t be happier! Everyone we have interacted with from the front desk, to the vet techs, to the veterinarians, are friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. We’ve seen Dr. Cherrick mainly and she is wonderful. She is very personable and cheerful. She is a great listener and thoroughly addresses any concerns while explaining her recommendations in a way that is easy to understand. She also is very sweet in how she interacts with our anxious cat. The level of care we have received from everyone at this clinic is second to none and we are so grateful for everything they do!

This place is horrible. My dog had her annual appointment scheduled for this morning. I showed up 5 minutes early, at which point they informed me that they didn't have her appointment in the system. They had switched systems, and it didn't transfer her existing appointment (and the doctor had an emergency so she wasn't there?!). After a lot of wrangling (they tried to make me come back a different day), they said that they had her checked in. I informed them that she needed her medication refilled as well, and I asked them to please make sure it was filled when I checked out so that I wouldn't have to wait after she was seen for another length of time. I then waited another 30 minutes, at which point I asked when they could see her and they said I had to keep waiting (they didn't tell me that it would be such a long wait when they told me they had checked her in). At that point, I asked for one month of her medication and her medical records. Despite requesting the medication earlier, I had to wait another 15 minutes for them to refill it (because they hadn't when I had previously asked). To simply erase a patient from their system, not contact the patient when something went wrong, and to not immediately fix the situation is unacceptable. I cannot trust North Avenue Animal Hospital with the care of my dog.

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff! We’ve been taking our two rescues there for 3 years now and we love each of the vets we’ve worked with. One of our dogs is very leash reactive so when I let the receptionist know, she had someone come meet us at their back entrance right away to avoid having to walk past other dogs in the lobby. They also escorted us back to our car to make sure no other dogs were outside. It’s the little things like this that made our visit so much less stressful. The staff at North Ave always goes above and beyond and we’re so appreciative of them.

They truly are the best vet out there. I sadly had to put my best friend down and they really helped comfort me through the process. They also sent a paw print with a heartfelt card to remember her by. Thank you Dr Cherrick for taking the time to write a personal message and helping me through the process. Everyone there is really compassionate and care for you and your pets.

UPDATE: Dr. Cherrick is still the best. Seriously, she is the real deal and I am beyond grateful to have found her. A real dog person, and also a people person! She's great at explaining stuff AND she is very patient and kind with my dog. PREVIOUS REVIEW: If your dog is fearful and nervous at the vet, you need DR. CHERRICK. We were lucky to get in to see her and she did not disappoint. She sat on the floor and chatted with me about all the usual things (diet, teeth brushing and flea/tick prevention). She made helpful suggestions (a water additive treatment that cleans dog's teeth? Wow. I had no idea there was such a thing!). My dog was comfortable with her within the first minute. She is calm, kind, intelligent and a neighborhood treasure. I also felt that her techs were with-it and professional as well. Front desk staff were easy, too. THIS is the place.

Dr. Cherrick is exceptional. I was treated well by all the staff and my fur baby was treated wonderfully. I have a lot of confidence in my pet's care here. I'll be a client for as long as Dr. Cherrick is here.
