Hi, I have known jasmine for a few years. First, she is a very beautiful lady inside and out. Let me explain. She is definitely set in her thinking and ways at times. But she means well. She has many cats and wants the best for them all. She cares for them all and wants to make sure the cats go to the right place with the right person. Anything negative said about her, was just her being her because she has a different mind-state. We are all human and have to understand this. However she does want the best for all of the cats. She almost wants everything to be perfect because she knows the cats deserve it. I want to ask you Jasmine, to please send me pictures of the cats I was taking care previously and an update , I cared for them many years. I had to give them back to her temporarily because of an unforeseen circumstance/life event but I have not been able to get ahold of her.

I was looking for a cat with a long coat on Petfinder in Chicago, and over half of them in the entire city are with Hi Kitty Kitty. I'm not exaggerating - they currently have over 20 cats with long coats. Not only does this place seemingly hoard cats in a home with no intention of adopting them out, but they seem to have a "type" and hoard all of the long coat cats they can find, which is frustrating as someone who actually wants to adopt one and has the means to give a cat a very good life. I don't know how this place is able to continue operating when it's clearly a complete sham, but the real tragedy is all of the sweet, beautiful cats that will likely never find a forever home and have to spend their lives in a dark basement with dozens of other cats and barely enough room to move.

Avoid this shelter at all costs! Please believe the negative reviews as I had a less than favorable experience at this shelter. About a year ago I went to this shelter to adopt a cat and was told I wouldn’t be able to unless I adopted a second as most of the cats there are “bonded pairs”. I wasn’t able to adopt 2 cats a year ago. This year I was in the position to adopt two kitties and my experience with the shelter this time was absolutely insane. To begin I was told my application was approved and was asked to do a phone interview before the cats would be brought to my home. After the phone interview the shelter gave a time and date for the cats to be dropped off. This was cancelled the day of because I was considered an “untrustworthy” candidate for not being privy to the fact that the cats had an adoption fee which I was more than willing to pay and able (thank god I didn’t pay early for them). Not to mention the adoption fee was not even brought up in discussion after 2 visits at the shelter each lasting about 2 hours each. The communication with this shelter is beyond laughable and embarrassing. My heart feels heavy for all the cats trapped in that house, a lot of which had been there since last time I visited! Over a year ago! Please do not waste a second of your time going here, please don’t waste a second of your time with Jasmine and her “board members”. A completely despicable and saddening place to visit.

Granted I have never stepped foot inside this place, the owner is a horrible person. She was outside and I was walking my dog. He went over by the tree in front of his kitty kitty and began to eat something. I was able to get him to release it when I noticed that there were hundreds of nuts scattered around the parkway. She insisted that it wasn't done by her, ( but reading other reviews about needing trees and birds) I assumed she was trying to feed them. I informed her that I would call 311 to let them know that someone was feeding the rats outside the shelter. She insisted that she had already called, but it's important that the city gets multiple complaints to ensure action. I got the address and my dog and I continued our walk. As soon as I got 10 feet from her she starts screaming that I'm abusing my dog and that I'm an animal abuser. She is nuts. Please consider going to the BBB and alderwoman with further complaints.

READ THE REVIEWS!!!! STAY AWAY!!! Avoid this shelter/rescue like the plague!!!! Jasmine is a psychopath!! Her words exactly are, “I pick and choose who gets cats and who doesn’t.” The reason is because Jasmine is in charge! It’s her rescue she gets final say! I say bring a gas mask to this devils basement apartment where the cats sadly live. This sad pathetic rescue/shelter needs to be SHUT DOWN!!!!! Jasmine you’re an unfit person to decide who gets a cat and who doesn’t! You should get with the program with adoption same day! It’s about getting the cats into a loving home! Because you’ve had the same mindset since 2013 on judging people, not liking what they say, their color of their skin, the way they talk, the vibe they give off, or the fact they may have crooked teeth, or bad breath. You put potential adopters on a no adopt list simply because you can!!! You’ve said this to plenty of your volunteers as well! I’ve been told about your personality and I am grateful that I adopted at a different shelter and not this sad place!! DO NOT SUPPORT THIS SHELTER!!! You will be told on the day you set up for your home tour that the cats sick, that you’re untrustworthy, the cat you picked is now bonded and you need to adopt as a pair, or simply because Jasmine doesn’t want to release the cat because she’s attached!!! JASMINE IS A TIME WASTER, TIME IS VALUABLE AND JASMINE DOESN'T VALUE YOU OR YOUR TIME!!!!
