I was referred here today by our primary care veterinarian for an emergency visit as my cat had suspected glaucoma and this is considered an emergency. I arrived at 12.30pm and was informed that they had patients with appointments to see and the wait would be several hours. This was fine, I understood. They then went on to say that because they wouldn’t be able to get to me before 2.45pm (on a Monday afternoon), I would have to pay their ‘out of hours fee’ of $900. I reiterate that this is from 2.45pm on a Monday afternoon. My primary care vet stated clearly that glaucoma is an emergency and needed immediate treatment. So I paid the money. However, the disgusting manipulation of the management to take advantage of caring pet owners who would not want their pets to suffer is disgraceful. I should point out that I found the staff to be excellent, very caring and professional. However, I would find it hard to support a business with such exploitative tactics for their customers.

Dr G has treated both of our pugs for eye issues: one for ulceration due to radiation therapy and another as a rescue with low/no vision. Absolutely spectacular treatment and well thought out options. Some decisions have been tough and some treatments require extensive home care. But the technicians, doctors and front desk staff are first rate.

I had a great experience with Dr. Gaerig and her assistant Shelton. They were both so kind to my girl Minnie and were so gentle and patient with her. Dr. Gaerig is extremely knowledgeable, extremely thorough and most importantly - honest. My dog was in a for a cataract consultation and many options were provided and explained thoroughly. Just from that one visit alone my girl is already doing so much better. Highly recommend.

The staff was calm and caring and explained everything in detail that I needed to know. Having experienced another vet eye care specialist, this was a welcome refreshing experience, to feel I understood what was going on with my dog's eye, what I had to do and why. Thank you so much to the staff!

Dr. Gaerig had originally recommended surgery for Honey, the 13 yr old shepard mix. The eye was set to rupture. She gave us three options complete with detailed costs and discussed the risks. We still had trouble deciding what to do and Melanie really helped us make a decision in a long talk. She is very knowledgable and a good communicator with great empathy. On the day-of-surgery, Dr. Gaerig, with help from Lauren, reevaluated Honey and armed with the information from a recent ultrasound at MedVets, another good vet, we decided not to do surgery as the eye actually seemed to be getting a bit better and that she is not a great candidate for anesthesia. Again, I was presented a few more options for treatment with detailed costs. I have never been to a more well run, professional and caring veterinary establishment before. They really spent a lot of time with us to answer all our questions. They cared about Honey and wanted to do the best thing for her and her owners even though that meant less revenue for them. I commend them and hightly recommend them. I wish there were more than 5 stars I could give to them.
