The vet that I first took my Japanese Spitz Mitsy to. The vet’s personal interactive style is a bit eccentric, but he knows his stuff. Appointments were kept on time, and he always quickly diagnosed and addressed Mitsy’s health issues.
This team consistently goes above-and beyond... I found Dr. G through Kitty Kind, an animal rescue organization he works with. I started fostering-to-adopt my cat 8 years ago. Shortly after I took her in, she developed ear and then eye issues. Dr. G worked hard to figure out what was going on. She still has issues but Dr. G and his staff continue to go above-and-beyond in caring for her and educating me as a first-time pet owner. When Chloe needed her ears cleaned, Dr. G personally attended to her and allowed me to bring her back for drops since I couldn't hold on to her to do it myself. Now when I bring her in to get her nails clipped (fast, safe and reasonable BTW), they check her ears and eyes and fix her up if needed. I truly don't know what I would do without this team. Dr. G can occasionally be a little gruff but he is incredibly accomplished and truly cares about the pets. His staff is great too and answers any questions. I highly recommend their wonderful care.
My family has been taking our animals to Dr. G for a very long time, maybe 15 years at least. I’ve really lost track. The bottom line is that Dr. G is incredibly kind to the animals and really knows what he’s doing. He explains every procedure and outlines your options. He won’t recommend treatment if he thinks it won’t work. I really trust his judgment. We’ve had to put to sleep quite a few pets over the many years at Cooper Square Vet, and Dr. G has always shown compassion. He opened the office on New Year’s Eve for me on Dec. 31, 2012 because my elderly cat was dying. He has hugged my mom who was crying after her dog died. He is a real local neighborhood vet and that’s getting harder to find nowadays.
I took my 12 year old cat to Dr G to treat a health issue and was a bit apprehensive bc his reviews said he could be a bit gruff but that he and his staff provided excellent care for their clients. Aside from a crowded waiting room, my visits have been excellent, I've yet to see this rude, abusive side to Dr G, and my cat is in great health. When I asked for a running total of fees my visit was incurring, Dr G complied immediately. I have a busy schedule that constantly changes, and Dr G's office accommodates me. He personally calls to deliver lab results, discuss treatment options and answers all my questions honestly and fully. I can't give Cooper Square Vets a higher recommendation.
I can't thank or praise Dr G highly enough. He is an amazing and caring vet who went above and beyond to submit and secure a health certificate from the USDA government vet so I could travel back to Australia with my service dog. Even though it was short notice and after normal hours, everything he did was to make the whole process as easy as it could be and give my dog the best possible care while we were in his surgery. A rare and exceptional veterinarian service. Thank you!
I have taken many foster animals to several different vets in the city, and Cooper Square is one of my favorites. Dr. G is an excellent doctor and gives great care. My dog has several medical issues and she is not an easy patient, behavior-wise, and all the staff are all wonderful. Because it's a small hospital she is able to have the same doctor and staff each time. I recommend Cooper Square to everyone who asks.
