Located in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood since 2006, we offer a comprehensive set of veterinary services designed to meet the overall healthcare needs of your pets. Whether your cat or dog needs routine wellness, diagnostic testing, surgical or dental services, you can count on us to provide unmatched personalized pet care.
When I moved to the city over a decade ago, my dog walker strongly recommended My Vet Animal Hospital. My dog Baron (70lb mutt) was a patient here for over a decade, until his passing. Dr. Robin and Dr. Lee were his most recent vets, but the whole team at the office has been beyond amazing, helping to keep Baron happy and healthy well into his silver years - he was still able to trot around corn mazes and comfortably go on family adventures as a 13 year old greying man :) The staff knew Baron personally and treated us both like family, I cannot imagine having a pet without the support of an incredible vet team like this one!
I went to pick up medicine for my son’s cat. The vet assistant reception was the nicest and most friendly assistant I have encountered in 50 years of pet ownership.
I’ve had an incredible experience with MyVet so far. I adopted a 6-month old lab/Great Dane mix a few weeks ago who had never been to the vet (let alone on a leash or on a walk). I needed to get him vaccinated asap, & I was very overwhelmed with adjusting to a puppy - they were able to quickly get him in & scheduled, & were so incredible with him. Faith & Madison at the front desk got him immediately calm (& honestly me as well - they played the role of my therapist when I was at a breaking point). Saddie & Dr. Lee were wonderful/patient/educational during his exam (& again, made me feel capable/confident). Faith has quickly become one of Kenobi’s favorite people - we walk by MyVet on our daily route, & after our first visit, she encouraged us to come in & say hi so he can keep associating it as a positive experience. He saw her on our walk today & immediately was tail wagging & full of excitement. Kenobi is my first dog on my own, & I couldn’t be happier to have chosen MyVet for his care.
Dr Robin has been taking care of our various furry babies for decades. She knows us so well and really takes her time with us and our girls when we visit. She really cares. But it’s the results that really earn the five stars. Through her guidance we have been good doggie parents and all of our previous labradors lived well past their expectancy for their breed. Looking forward to Lily and Martha living long healthy lives as well.
Took my dog here for his annual vax for two years, and they were fine. My dog gets nervous at the vet, and so the vet let me hold my dog on the floor for vaccinations. That was the only "extra measure" to make him comfortable. Again, this place is fine. But nothing special. Recently my dog had an allergic reaction to something that made his face blow up, and they refused him an appointment because they said he needs a full hour because he's not comfortable there. Additionally, the front desk woman who emails clients sent me a long-winded, extremely rude and utterly inappropriate email chastising me. In Wicker/Bucktown we are lucky to have a choice of several vets, and the best thing to come out of that experience is we found a new vet that is wonderful with animals, and her whole staff is professional and easy to deal with. So if you're only going to MyVet because you don't know where else to go, KEEP LOOKING. I'm so glad I did.
This place is a complete joke. I was an established customer at this veterinary clinic, and I have been very disappointed with their service on two separate occasions when I had an emergency situation with my pet. Both times, the intake person asked several questions about my pet's condition and then expressed that there were no openings for the next week or so. I understand that veterinary clinics can be busy, but I am very concerned that this clinic does not seem to prioritize emergencies or they may be incompetent or unwilling to take risks. I wish there would be a better Pet clinic in our community.
