I recently relocated to the Huntsville area from Connecticut where my family owns and operates a boarding facility with doggy daycare and grooming. Coming from the business myself, I am very pleased with the services provided to my dog at West Madison Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort. The staff are friendly and patient with my anxiety about boarding my dog- and Tucker always returns well cared for. I LOVE the fact that all of the staff are trained in "Fear Free" training, which makes me feel much better about boarding my dog who has separation anxiety. And coming from New England, the prices are awesome!

I've been with West Madison Veterinary Hospital since the day the doors opened. They've taken such good care of my kitties. I know that I can trust them to do the very best for my 'kids'. My oldest is about to celebrate her 19th birthday. They are so careful and gentle with her. She has a good quality of life thanks to their care. I recommend them without hesitation. Update: 5/14/2024: this is still THE best team to take care of your pets! The vet detected diabetes very early in one of my cats when they checked blood work before a dental. The doctor put her on cutting edge medication to get it under control so she would not have to have shots every day. I know my 'kids' get the very best care here, and they love the whole staff.

Our family moved overseas and due to short notice of our move, we were initially unable to take our cat with us. West Madison Veterinary Hospital is one of the few places in the area that handles international pet relocations. We boarded our cat with them until we could get all her paperwork done and they were amazing with her. The staff sent plenty of updates on how our cat was doing, and always made sure to let us know when her food was running low so we could restock. She ended up being there way longer than we intended, but we had peace of mind knowing she was in good hands. Staff played with her often and gave her lots of love and attention. Vermonica was the doctor in charge of the health certificates. She worked directly with the company we hired to help with relocation of our cat, going above and beyond. Couldn’t recommend them enough for any international travel needs!

The staff is absolutely amazing! My boys had a blast!!! My boy Jameson is definitely a ball of energy. I am happy he was comfortable enough to be himself.

First off, I want to say the staff has always been nothing but nice when dealing with them. My issue is with the prices of meds. I tried to transfer my two dog’s heart worm meds to an online pharmacy and got told that I had to pay $27 per dog, per script to have a vet review their files and write a script. Then I would have to pick up the script and mail it off to the pharmacy. My issue is, if my dogs were there last month for full checkups, and we paid for their meds last month, why do I have to pay to pick up scripts, and more importantly, if I am trying to transfer the cost of meds because it costs too much to buy it through the vet, why would you charge me over $100 to transfer the meds (heart worm and bravecto per dog) each time the script has to be renewed? When I balked at that, I got the response that they don’t trust online pharmacy’s because there is no guarantee who they get their meds from. I also asked if they price matched the meds from chewy since it would be cheaper than what I am currently paying when buying it from them, and got told no. I am frustrated that we have taken our pups to this place for the last few years but when we tried to transfer due to the rising cost of all of their meds and services, we get told that there are more fees. I transferred to another vet today, they will gladly cut scripts for my dogs to get their meds from an online pharmacy, as well as are drastically cheaper in meds than this place.

Always polite, caring, and professional. This is the best vet I've ever been to. Had dogs in my life for many years. Simple formula, knowledgable staff, good people.
