If I could give Ellicott Street Animal Hospital 10 stars, I would. I've been taking my dog here since 2014 - and could not be happier. We typically see Dr. Jane (Nellis) - and I can't say enough positive things about her. Each visit, she greets my dog with unbelievable love and joy - and is even know to hold him like a baby or in her lap. We LOVE Dr. Jane! My dog LOVES going to the vet! Heisman (my dog) started having seizures in September. They subsided with medication for two months, but about two weeks ago, they came roaring back. He saw a specialist (at another vet), but I wasn't totally "sold" on this person. I sensed a lack of empathy, care, etc. She barely interacted with my dog - despite his best efforts to make friends with her. The specialist seemed more put-off that I wasn't willing to put my dog through an MRI (anesthesia and a spinal tap). He's 11.5 and a Boston Terrier. It's a risky procedure. Her office also took 9 hours to get back to me with an update when my dog was having non-stop mini seizures this past Monday. I thought he was dying - and I couldn't do anything to help him. After reaching my max level for frustration, I made an appointment for Heisman to see his beloved Dr. Jane, rather than the specialist. She immediately put me at ease - and gave me an educated and thoughtful analysis of my treatment options for Heisman - options that are in HIS best interest. She made immediate plans for medication that is already helping him - and I left with a much happier and optimistic outlook than I've had in months. Please, do yourself a favor - and go to Ellicott Small Animal Hospital. Every person there is kind and caring - especially the amazing Dr. Jane. Your fur-child will be in loving hands.
I love the Ellicott St Small Animal Hospital. I have been a client there for 40yrs. They have always been responsive to my needs.
Extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. My puppy is only 12 weeks old so he’s extremely anxious whenever he leaves the house. He warmed up to the staff very quickly and received tons of cuddles and treats the moment we walked through the doors. I recommend this place to anyone who will listen!
My first visit was impressive. My dog was very sick and the staff were very compassionate and knowledgeable. I felt the prices were fair and my dog is doing better after a few days of treatment. Would recommend this vet.
Had an emergency with my cat and needed an appointment that day I called seeing it was Friday and couldn’t wait till Monday for treatment, got us in that afternoon. She was taken care of right away and realized she had an injury to her back got medication was able to take her home. The doctor and staff are very caring also answered all our questions and concerns.
My family has used Ellicott vets for my entire life, and we have always been treated fairly and with much kindness. The doctors are thorough and knowledgeable, and they are always willing to work with you on any plan that works for both you and your pet. Highly recommend.
