Description Awesome Paws Rescue is a volunteer-based, no-kill rescue focused on saving dogs at risk of euthanasia in overcrowded Southern shelters. We coordinate and transport dogs from various southern states and bring them to Buffalo, where the dogs stay with foster families until they are adopted. Because we are a foster based organization, there is no shelter you can visit to see all the adoptable dogs. All of our rescues are getting reacquainted to “home life”, where they can receive individual attention and their personalities are given a chance to truly shine.

Rescuing a pup from awesome paws was a great experience! I really enjoyed the smaller rescue feel! They have a thorough process to make sure they are sending their pups to good homes which I appreciate. Don’t be discouraged if it takes a few more days than you expected. Everyone was very nice and extremely helpful during the process of adopting and then my pups neutering. Even now if I have a question they answer immediately. I am so glad I picked awesome paws and now I have the best dog!

Our experience with Awesome Paws changed our lives, not once but twice! We adopted Hunter 5 years ago and Archie 2 years ago. Each foster family was very great to work with for the home visits, paperwork was all in order, and follow up after adoption was appreciated. They also are at many local events to meet their available pups. I highly recommend adopting from Awesome Paws!

The rescue was highly professional in their processes, from application to final delivery of our new little someone to love. Awesome Paws is the best! Our family has been able to adopt 2 amazing pups who we adore. Can't imagine life without Honey and Mabel! The volunteers have always been so wonderful and caring. Highly recommend!

I hear great things about APR but my experience 2 years ago was disappointing, surprised they asked for a review now. I was told Tasha was SPAYED and chill and was good in the car. On the way home she was WILD - even damaged the inside of my car. I had her a week or two and she was always trying to escape, barking at me, not happy. I couldn't handle this dog. Another foster came to help and took her to the vet. Turns out she was in HEAT and had a bad ear infection and other problems! I lost my adoption fee and they would not consider me for another dog which was really not fair since she was not as represented. Jamie P who assisted me though was truly awesome and I did not have to pay the vet at least. Rescues should really allow a trial period because you can't always know in a 30 minute visit if you're a good match especially when the dog is not as described. I would give Jamie 10 stars but the rescue fell short.
