Dr. Purvis is fantastic--so knowledgeable, professional, and kind. I was so impressed with her staff too. They are warmly friendly and clearly so good at what they do. Lori, Dakota and Jennelle could not have been kinder to my little Jack Russell with spinal stenosis and a heart condition. Dr. Purvis took extra time to explain the radiograph to me in ways I could understand and helped me learn how best to care for my elderly boy going forward. I had felt very scared for him but I feel so much better knowing there is a team like this available to help us. So grateful!!!

There was a negative post on nextdoor about Hempfield Animal Hospital which I believe has spurred some of the recent negative reviews on google. I've been taking my cats to Hempfield Animal Hospital for years and they have always been wonderful. We just took one of our cats on Wednesday this week for her yearly check-up and shots. Dr. Purvis has never been unkind to us. She can be quite serious when advocating for the health of your pets, but never rude. She has always worked with our cats' best interests at heart. When one of our cats suddenly got sick in January she was very kind and followed up with us by phone several times. Even after he passed at the animal hospital in Malvern she called us to check on us and the entire staff signed a card with their condolences. They all remember our cats names and personalities even if it's been a year since their last visit. They all seem to genuinely love animals.

Hempfield Animal Hospital went above and beyond with their care of our puppy Lily who had aspirated and developed pneumonia. Dr. Purvis and her team are extremely knowledgeable and were able to put a plan together to get Lily healthy again. We are forever grateful for your compassionate care.

Would not recommend. Annual check up. We were presented with whether we wanted optional vaccines? I commented that I wanted to do more research before getting them. Dr. Purvis (the Vet and Owner) was extremely defensive and argumentative. We will not be going back. The rest of the office staff was wonderful.
