I rescued a baby squirrel that was barely moving on a road near my house. Some quick online searching brought up Puget Sound Wildcare in Kent. I spoke with a veterinarian there who was very kind and made arrangements to transport the squirrel there. It turned out the squirrel had a parasite in his ear, and he was quite ill. However, he recovered and was moved into a pen with squirrels his age and size. Fast forward several weeks, I was able to participate in the release of my rescue and his friends. It was such a rewarding and unforgettable experience. Thank goodness these folks are around to help creatures big and small!!
I called when I found a little robin my cat had caught. I took the bird and put it in a box with sawdust and a worm. Receptionist connected me to a vet and we texted back and forth. After an hour or so, I took the bird back outside and it hopped away. It was definitely injured—I'm not sure it survived—but vet was very patient and told me exactly what to do. Receptionist too answered phone almost immediately. Great service. I’m glad I was able to give the little thing a chance.
Brought in tiny baby bunny found by dogs. They are fabulous. Link your Fred Meyer rewards to them using this code Q1719
I found three abandoned baby rabbits in my yard today. It was pretty clear that mama wasn’t coming back and when I put them in a box with some towels, just to keep them safe until I could find a place to take them in, I realized that they were injured. I definitely knew I could not nurse them back to health myself. I called a few places and pretty much no one could take them in. Until I found Puget sound wild care. When I called them and explained the situation, they said I could bring them in with no hesitation. They were very kind when I took the babies there and they even gave me an ID card so I can call and check up on them to see their status. This is a Place I can fully support and donate to without any hesitation. I feel like since we live in a state with such amazing wildlife, we need more rehabilitation places to help animals when things like this happen. But I’m grateful there’s at least one place that can take sweet babies like this no problem And nursing them back to health. Thanks you guys!
I took an injured squirrel in to be taken care of by these amazing people. I love that they helped wild life. Non profit so donations are needed! Thank you for all your help!
Last night, I found a baby bunny in the middle of the busy road after it had been taken out of its nest by a cat. I took him in for the night and frantically searched places he could go. They answered my phone call immediately this morning and were willing to take him in. They made the process so smooth. I drove down and dropped him off. You can tell they really care about the welfare of animals!
