Adopted “Mahina” 8/7 at 4:30pm and the same night I had to take her to urgent care at 9pm where she was diagnosed with pneumonia and I got a $600 bill on top of paying her fee for adoption. The dr suggested she may have caught it when she was spayed 2 weeks prior. The SPCA needs to do due diligence on making sure their dogs aren’t sick before adopting them out. Her fur is also stained…who knows how long they let her sit in her urine without giving a bath. She’s living her best life now though.
We got Aries in 2017. We love him! The SPCA team is wonderful!
Although I haven’t adopted an animal from Norfolk SPCA, my experience with them has been exceptional. The staff and volunteers are passionate and friendly, making every visit pleasant. The facility is spotless and the animals are clearly well-loved and cared for. They provide valuable support and resources for potential adopters. If you’re thinking about adopting a pet, Norfolk SPCA is definitely worth a visit!
A bunch of LIARS!!!! I brought a kitten in to surrender, that my daughter found at her bus stop, they didn't have space so they referred me to the Animal Care Center "around the corner on Sabre Rd" I asked if that was a no kill shelter as well and they said "yes" I get there and first off the braided hair counter girl needs to be fired, but anyway, long story short they will kill a newborn kitten or one of 6weeks or less because they can't give it the attention it needs..says so on their site. Unbelievable. Needless to say I'll be going back Tuesday to pick him up if they didn't already KILL HIM. Thanks to these liars I surrendered a found kitten to a kill shelter.
Thank you to the whole team. Everyone was very professional and really cared a great deal for all the pets. The wait to be seen, was not bad at all. I would definitely recommend.
We went in looking for a new fur baby and that is just what we found. The staff was happy to help in any way. Although you could tell the were busy and maybe a little understaffed in some sections they did not let that stop them from giving each person an experience. The wait time was a little long when I came to pick up my new cat, but they allowed me to play with him and get him ready to go home with me. They even gave us lots of coupons for care-a-lot, ziplock bag of dry food and 2 cans or wet food to get us started and must I say our new fur baby is great. It is always an awesome feeling to rescue a new pet.
