We are a group of highly trained, experienced animal lovers who are devoted to giving our patients the best care possible.
I've been going to Crystal Springs since 2020 when I was referred there for emergency splenectomy surgery with Dr Gadde. The prices were the most reasonable and follow up was so attentive and amazing. I live in Oakland and continue traveling down to use them because I just trust all the vets. I now am with Dr Cherry, who my dog loves and was so thoughtful going through pros and cons of tooth extraction with an older (13) dog (which went off without a hitch). After his latest bout with vestibular disease, Dr Hoppe went above and beyond to follow up check in with us during a really scary time when I had a ton of questions but couldn't travel with him. I cannot recommend this office enough.
Firstly the front desk is a bit odd? Some of the poeple that work there are REALLY sweet and helpful and the others always make you feel like a nuisance for calling/asking any questions (which makes it SUCH a pain to call and ask anything...). Secondly for context my dog is REALLY anxious going to the vet so the vet that we were assigned was really sweet/kind/understanding of my dogs anxiety (and my own haha). However I had some weird feedback in regards to feeding raw (which usually isn't a good sign). And the real thing that happened was I scheduled a blood test for my dog and a yearly check up. And in our appointment with our vet, we had mentioned our dog was feeling low energy, gained A LOT of weight (20-30lbs), other symptoms. Our vet seemed unfazed by all of these pretty glaring symptoms? So we did the blood test, and some of her levels were a bit off, which our vet made a note about those. BUT the real kicker was the lowest value she had was her thyroid (WHICH THE VET DID NOT MENTION OR FLAG ANYTHING to US AT ALL). I immediately saw this, and emailed her twice asking if this is a red flag, what should we do? Are her symptoms related to this (which they very clearly were). I called the front desk got some rude response, and NEVER heard anything back from anyone. So I'm done with this place. I ended up taking my dog to a homeopathic vet in Pleasant Hill which is a drive for us but SO worth it. That vet listened to us very attentively and immediately had us do a full thyroid panel. My dog came back with autoimmune hypothyroidism (her values were VERY low). Wish I had gone to this vet immediately, I'm kicking myself for waiting this long. Please do your research and homework when it comes to vets, unfortunately the whole medical/vet industry is hard to navigate but its SO worth finding someone you can trust.
Things that took longer than Dr. Gadde's exam with my dog: - filling out the new patient form copying stuff from the records I've already forwarded - the survey they send you after the visit - the time I spent waiting for the doctor to come to our room - the doctor explaining all the things he checked on my dog. Maybe this is a good place to see animals with issues, but for an annual exam, look elsewhere. My dog was afraid because we _just raised the table under him_. Dr. Gadde concluded within 15 seconds that he could not do the exam, and needed to do it in the back. He was back within 2 minutes. How thoroughly could he had checked my dog's ears, or heart, or paws etc?? I'm not saying longer is better, but there's a minimum bar I don't think the doctor met. This was a new patient exam as I needed to change vets and the contrast with my last vet is day and night. I got the sense the doc wanted nothing to do with my dog. If you're looking for a new vet, go elsewhere. I will be.
I want to let others know how caring, compassionate and knowledgeable Dr. Gadde is. I brought my cat, Sammy, to the hospital knowing that he was in trouble with kidney failure. I needed reassurance that putting him down was the only, although distressful, choice. Dr. Gadde helped me make the right decision. He showed me the lab results and assured me in a very gentle manner that my Sammy could not recover. Thank you, Dr. Gadde. I will remember your genuine concern for my pet and your kindness to both of us.
Super dedicated & professional service! We have tried a couple of vets in Bay Area, but here is by far the best! Their staffs were very friendly and Dr. Gadde not only listened to our concerns but also he took good amount of time to ask his questions to understand our dog’s recent condition, and he provided the detailed instructions which definitely gave us lots of trust.
Thank you to all staff at Crystal Springs for always taking such good care of our Rocky. Dr Hoppe was always gentle, knowledgeable and understanding. She also performed Rocky’s neutering and he had no issues recovering and answered all our concerns. We appreciate that they always tried their best to accommodate appointments. We moved to San Jose last year and still went to them, that is how much we loved them. Now we have moved over two hours away so unfortunately we are too far to be able to go to them, otherwise we would still be their patient. Thank you for everything <3
