Description At Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS), we work each day to ensure a compassionate, humane community for animals and people. LCAS operates an animal shelter, which provides for companion animals who have been surrendered by their owners or found stray in the county. The shelter also has pets for adoption. Humane Law Enforcement Officers enforce local and state animal laws and investigate reports of animal cruelty.

The Loudoun County Animal Shelter is the people and staff that make place great! Such a wonderful facility clean comment looks brand new. They are taking such wonderful care of my cat Josephine, AKA, josi w/ an i. She asked them every day, "Where is johni " and what time! will he be coming to pick her up",? which will be soon. I am so grateful that they are taking such wonderful care of her. She loves people and is more human, full of wisdom. She is my boss, she's teaching me to live in the moment. I'm not kidding. She tells me every day!!!
This place is amazing. It's a clean, modern facility that allows for animals to get placed with loving families. They make it so easy to meet and greet with animals in a safe environment. The paid and volunteer staff were helpful and super-friendly. They keep notes on all of the animals and explain behavioral traits to you in a way that you can make an informed decision. We were able to adopt Randy for a small fee and took home a haul of toys, bed, blanket and a nice starter bag of food that he was used to. So thankful for this facility and staff.
I had about a dozen sick bats on my porch and was transferred to these guys by the sheriff's non-emergency line. I was told they couldn't send anyone to get the bats because it was 5pm and they were closed. They told me to collect the bats and put them in a box. Total negligence on their part.
We visited the highly acclaimed local animal shelter to see who was available for adoption. Welcoming helpful staff and beautiful clean facility where the animals are well cared for. We did not adopt a new family member because we did not find what we were looking for. We'll definitely visit again at a later time. They are in need of volunteers!
Ive worked in the animal services field for most of my life, and I have never, ever encountered a group of people who seem to actively NOT want people to adopt their animals. I adopted my last cat from the old location 14 years ago and came here when I was ready for another cat. I’ve never encountered such unfriendly and suspicious staff at an animal shelter.
What a beautiful shelter, designed to care for the animals, not the people. Dogs are on one wing, cats and small mammals on the other to prevent stress. Healthy stress-free, *large* enclosures versus cages. Even the small mammals had at least four by four foot enclosures. They got fresh veggies and lots of attention. They have a meet and greet cat room with toys and couches and everything you need to create a pseudo home environment to determine if you pick the right Kitty. I didn't see the dog Wing but I'm assuming they have something similar. The staff is all incredibly knowledgeable, caring, respectful of animals, intelligent, kind to both animals and people, and understanding of difficulties. No judgment. We found our forever pet here. The adoption fees are basically non-existent, and they have an on-site veterinarian to ensure the health of all the animals, and to make sure non-healthy pets are not adopted until well. All male animals are neutered with no cost. We were able to adopt a male guinea pig for our herd for $5, he was well adjusted, happy, and the healthiest guinea pig I've ever seen, thanks to the well caring stuff here. <3
