I was disappointed with the service at the front desk and the nursing staff. Despite being the only cat clinic in Virginia, they seem to lack basic knowledge about cat behavior. It appears that their primary focus is profit, sometimes at the expense of the cats' well-being, including prescribing unnecessary medications.

Very unprofessional. I went for blood work for my cat. A week later they ended up telling me that the two tubes of blood they extracted was not enough to finish all the test I paid for, and need me to bring my cat in again. This was after I confirmed during the blood extraction and the assistants said it would be enough for the tests. Assistants also excessively kissed my cat during tests, which was really weird and a bit concerning. Cats get stressed easily, I probably won’t take the risk of going to this facility again.

So worth it to find a cat-exclusive vet! Everyone here is so incredible to my senior kitty. When she went through I131 treatment for her hyperthyroidism, they sent me daily updates on her, including the sweetest updates about their daily interactions with her. Highly recommend!!

[EDIT] 2 stars because the vet was very professional, sent me the lab results and got my cat the food he needed even though I didn’t want to come back in. I can’t believe how unprofessional and untrained the entire staff was - never coming back!! First they have us waiting forever for the vet to come back to see my cat which has him pacing in the room getting anxious. We spend all of 2 seconds with the vet and then some staff come back to do blood work that had to be the trainees/interns because they acted like they had never held a cat before. He’s an older cat and they were squeezing him too hard and hurting him, and then just let him fly off of the table!!! Some other techs had to come back to finished the job who also barely knew what they were doing and they all try to play it off like they didn’t just serious upset him. I get up to the front counter to pay the 500 dollar fee for my cat torture, and when I simply asked what I was being charged for and why you would have thought I held a gun to the receptionists head. I’m not exaggerating when I say she got up out her seat, started to get defensive, and backed away! I’ve never been to the vet before and they couldn’t give me an explanation of what I was paying for. Not to even mention how long it took for me to get an appointment in the first place. Idk if I just came on the wrong day and got all the incompetent staff but this place was not it for us.

We took our senior cat here for a check up and dental cleaning/ surgery because we were concerned about her front canines. They did a thorough check up and blood work to determine she was healthy enough for anesthesia. I loved that they allowed us to go in the check-up room with our cat, and they were extremely caring, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our kitty ended up having to get 11 teeth pulled and now she is happier than ever. We are so pleased with our experience with Nova Cat Clinic and very grateful for their care of our kitty!

They cleaned my cats ears during a dental surgery. My cat came back with no balance whatsoever. Falling all over the place even after the anasthesia wore off. He could not walk without falling. They refused to investigate what happened. They probably punctured his eardrum. He never recovered his balance and he was always uncomfortable with his ear for the rest of his life while I maxxed out my credit card shopping around for answers.
