AWLA was so helpful and amazing! My boyfriend and I came in an hour before they closed, and we fell in love with Charleston. They were able to do the paperwork and we were able to take this bundle of energy home with us the same day. We love him already and he’s been adjusting so well to his new home! Thank you AWLA for helping us find our baby boy!

The staff here are amazing. So helpful and friendly. Kari, Kelley, Danielle, Ronny and Mary have a passion for animals and a type of care for animals like no other animal shelter/staff. I love everything that they did for me! Truly an awesome experience.

Wow, where do I start?!? This is the best adoption facility!! They are so empathetic. I unfortunately made the decision to surrender my dog before asking my family for help. The employees were so understanding of the situation and let me readopt her so she could go with my family. They didn’t have to do that because I legally surrendered her, but they did because they are good humans. This place is the best. Thank you again!!!!!!

The love and support my dog received during a difficult time for me will never be forgotten. They have good hearts at this shelter and fully educate pet owners. This is an incredible place I truly appreciate everything they did for me & my dog!!!! Amazing people

I can't say enough good things about this animal shelter. I recently found a stray cat abandoned in a cage and brought him here. The staff was incredibly kind and understanding, making the whole process much easier for me. They assured me that the cat would be well taken care of, and now he's in good hands with a loving foster home. I was especially relieved to learn that this shelter doesn't euthanize animals. They also allow me to call and check on him, which means a lot since I was really worried about his wellbeing. I'm so grateful for their compassion and dedication to helping animals in need!

We got our new baby here & everything seemed great. The only problem is that the dog was on trazadone for kennel stress? It's a shame that it's so stressful on them that they have to medicate some? I wish there was a better way but... Staff was great & everyone seemed wonderful.
