I first became involved with Leashes of Valor in September 2017, shortly after they received their nonprofit status. After about two years, I decided to part ways due to the manipulative and inappropriate behavior of a few staff members. Those staff members are no longer with the organization. I have always supported the cause of the Leashes of Valor but could not support some of the staff and their treatment of others, including the veterans they stated they wished to help. Once I learned of the departure of those individuals, I began to reintegrate with the organization, to the current point of full buy in of who they are as people and members of the community. Over the past several months I have been fortunate to meet some of Leashes of Valor’s amazing fosters, volunteers, and donors. The administrative staff are impeccable in their professionalism and have been warm and welcoming to all. The training staff exude knowledge and are open to answering my questions (probably dumb) without judgement. I am a service-connected veteran with combat deployments. After separation from active duty, I dedicated my career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to serving veterans and active duty; ranging from VA Homeless Programs to Behavioral Health with active duty. I recognize the invaluable therapeutic support a service dog can provide a veteran. As a mental health provider, I would not hesitate to recommend Leashes of Valor to an appropriate client seeking a service dog, something I would not have done 6 months ago. I am in awe of the entire staff of Leashes of Valor for their continued dedication and immense work during the last 6 months, despite adversity. The effort they all put in to making Axel’s Place a home for Leashes of Valor friends, family, and supporters is inspiring. I encourage all to reach out to Leashes of Valor to learn more about the organization and how they are taking it to the next level.

It's unlikely you'll find a better organization for veteran service dogs in the country. The staff works hard to make the veterans feel comfortable with their service dog and does a fantastic job training them. The most recent group of dogs are some of the best, brightest, and friendliest canines I've seen put through training.

Leashes of Valor makes a life saving difference in the lives of the veterans they service. They are committed to their mission, which is to provide service dogs trained to assist with PTSD, and TBI at no cost to the veteran. What a wonderful organization.

Fabulous organization to work with, the leashes of valor team is doing great things. Jason and his team are incredibly professional and are making great strides in their community. We are looking forward to continuing our support to this valuable mission.

Long-term care for our nation's veterans can fall woefully short, especially for those dealing with less visible wounds like post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries. Thankfully, organizations like Leashes of Valor step into that void to offer a helping hand to veterans still in need of care. Leashes of Valor's dedicated staff lives by the motto, "one leash saves two lives." As a veteran, I am thankful for this organization and the selfless people who give their all to help ease the pain and suffering of my brothers and sisters-in-arms.

LoV is a great Veteran Non-profit Organization that serves our Veterans daily. They provide service animals across the country to our Veterans who are suffering and need that resource. If you have an opportunity, check them out and if you're looking for a real Veterans Non-profit Organization to support that serves the Veteran directly, look NO further!!
