Description The Animal Control Deputies are dispatched through the Spotsylvania County Sheriff Office. If you have an animal complaint or concern, call 540-582-7115. If you have an animal emergency call 911. AC deputies are on duty from 7:30 am to 11 pm. 365 days a year. Hours for viewing and adoption 12pm-4pm Tuesday-Saturday, closed all federal holidays. Adoption fee: $85 dog/puppy $55 cat/kitten All animals are altered and receive a rabies vaccine (if old enough) before leaving the shelter.

I adopted the sweetest dog from this shelter. His name is Bubby and he is just wonderful. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. They allowed me to do a foster-to-adopt to ensure that Bubby would get along with my existing dogs before finalizing the adoption. This is a no-kill shelter, which is an incredible accomplishment for an open-admissions animal shelter.

Words cannot express how happy we are to have adopted our dog Copper. He is a 3 year old plot hound that we adopted about 2 months ago. Copper is well behaved, house trained, good with other pets and children. There is so much love waiting for family’s. The staff is great and helpful. We spent over 2 hours there and they helped us pick the perfect dog! Thank you soooo much!!!

The staff here are very nice and knowledgeable people. I have been struggling to find an affordable crate for my Dog. They helped me obtain one. Now I can know that my dog is safe whenever I have to leave her at home. She is also a very happy pup and loves her new crate!

The staff was very accommodating given how busy they are. "Sky" rescued us and it's only been a day but she is a dream. I wish I could take them all home but if you have the means help out.

This is my favorite place ti bring my pets for their rabies and spaying.. Just took Blue there to be spayed and doing well....seems to be alert and acting like nothing happened! I recommend Kincheloe Clinic for all your pets shots and spay/neuter. BTW, I adopted a cat at their shelter about 3 years ago too.
