Description Central Virginia Horse Rescue, Inc (CVHR) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the compassionate care of equines. Our mission is to save, protect, and rehabilitate equines in need. We rescue unwanted, abused, neglected, or abandoned equines; provide them with care and rehabilitation; and finally find them a compatible, loving home. We believe that education is the long-term solution to improving the lives of equines.

One of the best kept secrets in Fredericksburg, beautiful farm currently houses 31 horses. Large pastures and for visitors the opportunity to see up close how the rescue takes care of neglected horses and horses that families are no longer able to take care of. This organization operates mainly on donations and the work of a strong volunteer base. Great place to take your children to educate them on animal care. They have several events throughout the year to drive donations.

I like this horse rescue! Beautiful place for horses to rehabilitate. The volunteers are wonderful with horses. Everyone is so kind and the horses are beautiful!

Called about volunteering and not only was the girl who answered off and kinda rude, but then wanted to charge me just to LOOK at the place… what???!

What a wonderful rescue located about 15-20 minutes north of Route 3. They have great charity drives throughout the year which allow the public to tour the grounds while helping the rescue. Individuals can volunteer or adopt from this rescue and you can tell the volunteers really care. Peaceful and wonderful property to help these animals heal.
