A mom cat and 2 newborn kittens were given to me to care for. When the time came for them to be altered, finding a place that could get them scheduled was tough. Mom cat(Tessa) had pyometra and was in heat so we needed to get her spayed quickly. FredSPCA Clinic took such great care of her! She was able to be spayed and given antibiotics to get her feeling better. She had a tough time with the recovery but only because she wasn't healthy going into it. I took her kittens there to be spayed and neutered and again they received excellent care. The process to schedule was easy. The paperwork was emailed so there wasn't a lot left when I dropped off or picked up. Overall, this was a great experience and I absolutely would (and have already) recommend FredSPCA clinic!

I’d gone to a couple shelters before that were frankly depressing, but the Fredericksburg SPCA is in a class by themselves. The facility was clean, well organized, animals were well cared for, but most of all the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their animals. I viewed the available dogs on their website and had a few I was interested in meeting. After talking with the staff and explaining what I was looking for, the staff made several suggestions based on their experiences with the dogs. The dogs I was initially interested in were not a good fit, but based on staff recommendations I found the dog that was right for me. All in all, I had a great experience and highly recommend this shelter.

0/0 stars we adopted a new kitty Wednesday and took her to the vet today she has kitty leukemia this spca is really trash my fiancé tried to ask a few different people a few different times before adopting her if she was all good and healthy because one of her eyes has some obvious trama to it with green gunk coming from that eye and they told him that she was totally fine and healthy and good to bring home to our other cat however that was a LIE!!! Now I have to worry that our new cat isn’t going to live long and scared that she may get our other cat sick

I had a horrific experience at this place and would never recommend this facility to anyone. We came in at 5:00 to view the dogs and found a few we wanted to meet, but a bearded woman was extremely rude and said we could not meet them that day and refused to let us put a hold on the one we wanted. When we came in the very next day, someone else was viewing the dog we wanted, and we offered to adopt her right then and there. After explaining the situation to what I can only assume was the manager, she told us we could not adopt the dog since we didn’t place a hold on her the day before (even though the bearded lady said we couldn’t) and the other family would be taking her out on a loan. I truly believe this place doesn’t want dogs adopted, and the bearded woman was one of the worst individuals I’ve ever met. Do not go here.

We walked into this place and walked out 30 minutes later with the sweetest kitten. She was a stray and they must have taken good care of her because she's very sweet and so playful.

We rescued my amazing German Shepard/Australian Cattle Dog mix named Tex (Texaco) from Fredericksburg SPCA. Our experience was great and we got the best new edition to our family. Actually making plans to rescue from here again soon! Don't shop, ADOPT and you definitely won't regret it. 😊😊
