Today I adopted the sweetest cat from Kitty Kat Haven. Brenda and the entire team was so kind and helpful. They care so well for the cats that come to them. Some of the negative reviews on here are very unfair. They are very clear about the expectations of adopting from them. Ensuring the cat’s safety is top priority (as it should be!) I cannot stress enough how kind and helpful the entire team was. I’m so grateful to them and I strongly recommend you come here if you are looking for you new furry baby!
Lovely place, great staff. You can drop by on weekends if you just want some kitty time. The "kitty kabin" in the back with all the "teenage" cats is the best place to just hang out and play with kitties. You'd be hard pressed not to walk out with one!
Very clean. Safe, loving space for the kitties. Hardworking, dedicated volunteers. Definitely check them out if you want to adopt, foster, or volunteer, or just spend some time with lots of kitties!
Brenda with Kitty Kat Haven was helpful during the adoption process! She helped identify a few cats that would best fit my living circumstances. They are devoted to making sure it is a perfect match for the owner and cats. She coordinated with the Gatos and Beans team to complete the adoption of Abby and Alec. She is always very responsive and attentive.
U am not sure what to think. I was approved for adoption but waited until we got our sick cat healed up. When I talked with the lady on the phone and I told her we were looking for a black cat. We went to look at cats listed on the website. Only to find out all the black cats were being fostered. Left disappointed. Was hoping to hear back. I am guessing that since we live in Tuacaloosa, they are not interested in letting in adopting. Sad because one of their cats could have had a forever home. However, I got a sneaking suspension that those cats in foster care already have a forever home, thus why we not heard back. I am guessing they got themselves a good system set up to make them appear as a charity. I am going back to the pound at least they let us adopt another cat without all the fus.
They WILL NOT LET YOU ADOPT IF YOU ALLOW THE KITTEN OR CAT TO GO OUTDOORS. We adopted a pair of kittens about 10 years ago and found KKH to be slow, but fine. Never mind that we’ve been super responsible cat owners for 50+ years. They refused to allow us to adopt a third because we allow ours to go outdoors **wearing GPS tracking collars.** I strongly recommend the Greater Birmingham or Shelby County Humane Societies.
