Brenda with Kitty Kat Haven was helpful during the adoption process! She helped identify a few cats that would best fit my living circumstances. They are devoted to making sure it is a perfect match for the owner and cats. She coordinated with the Gatos and Beans team to complete the adoption of Abby and Alec. She is always very responsive and attentive.

They WILL NOT LET YOU ADOPT IF YOU ALLOW THE KITTEN OR CAT TO GO OUTDOORS. We adopted a pair of kittens about 10 years ago and found KKH to be slow, but fine. Never mind that we’ve been super responsible cat owners for 50+ years. They refused to allow us to adopt a third because we allow ours to go outdoors **wearing GPS tracking collars.** I strongly recommend the Greater Birmingham or Shelby County Humane Societies.

Super disappointing experience overall. I was looking to adopt a kitten since my sweet kitty of 17 years passed away last year. I completed an application and it is 100% impossible to believe anything on there would warrant a disapproval. However, somehow they found something by saying I “was outside of their adoption area” by 8 MINUTES! I totally understand why they have this policy in place but eight minutes? Come on. Especially considering from my references and application it was clear I would be a safe home. I was very polite and tried reach out to them via email to try and speak with someone and explain a bit about the situation. I frequent the area regularly and the eight minutes would be no problem but never got an answer. I also called various times but no answer on that either. Overall, they are super unprofessional in the way that they conduct business. Yes, it’s a non profit but there is just a way you should do things when you own a business. They have so many kitties with no homes :( Do better.

My girlfriend and I showed up at Kitty Kat Haven one day just to look at cats (as she’s allergic and I was working on getting her to compromise and get one). The staff are super nice and really love the cats! They make sure they’re all cared for and genuinely want them to go to the best and most loving homes they can find. We met my cat, Rajah, there and when he hopped in my girlfriend’s lap, I knew he would be ours. They made the process very easy and streamlined and assisted me in getting everything I needed to give Rajah the best home. On top of that, they offered continual support if I ever needed (or still need) anything. If you’re looking for a furry feline friend that needs some love, look no further — they will make sure you find the one that’s meant for you.

We found the most wonderful pair of brothers who had been rescued from a high kill shelter. The boy's were so well taken care, behaved, clean and so loving. The shelter team is amazing and always there if questions. Kitty Kat Haven and Rescue is the best!!

KittyKat Haven was wonderful! We really enjoyed our experience! They were really patient with us taking our time to truly find who fit our family. They allowed us to be picky. They even gave suggestions and encouraged multiple meetings. They provided us with the cabin, a safe room where we could meet the kittens and play in a kitty kat heaven, and even let us meet with the kitties at their foster homes where they are most comfortable. I made new friends and loved meeting so many new people. It was truly a fantastic experience, and we found the perfect brothers to adopt into our family. We are so excited and so happy! Thank you, KKHR, for helping us extend our family! ❤️
