Left before I even spent the night. I was escorted there by an officer saying that they could help me with resources without having to stay there. Instead anytime I asked for any kind of aid or even what kind they offered besides a roof, I was told to wait until after the next thing for hours on repeat. Turns out what the head lady meant was she's not going to tell me anything until I've completely moved in. They make you turn your phone in before dinner, and don't even have it locked up anywhere secure. If somebody makes it back to the front desk before you do after, they can totally swipe your phone and just walk out with it. They won't even let you have toilet paper rolls in the bathroom. You have to guess how much you'll need, and rip it off a roll at the front desk. They started having us pile in the cafeteria for dinner right before 5 so I wasn't even hungry. I was encouraged by another resident to stuff food in my pockets and waved in line to grab a plate anyway just so other people could pick off it. I got offered speed for a cookie, which I declined. I feel like I experienced a real-life indoctrination prison, as I wasn't allowed to leave the over hour-long worship session after dinner either. I explained I have trauma from being abused by a missionary for 18 years, and they didn't care. A place meant to take in abused people, doesn't care about trauma from abuse. Before you think this is normal for these places, no it's not. The safehouse I talked to after said they were making a note in their file to never recommend Rescue Mission for anyone, because what they're doing is its own traumatic experience and keeps people stuck rather than helping them back on their feet.

That's confusing because if you need here. 5 stars is not your life. But you can eat.
