I filled out an application for a dog (Toby & Chance). A few days later, I received a call (Donna) she left a message because I was at work (couldn't answer). I called back an hour later and left a voicemail. No return call. I called again the next morning. No response. I assumed he was gone. I'm disappointed I didn't even receive a courtesy call. Then, about a week later, the dog (Toby) is posted online again. I have so many unanswered questions. I am disappointed but understand volunteers are just that-volunteers. I stopped looking to adopt a dog. 6/29/24 I started looking to adopt another dog. I see that Toby is STILL available for adoption. This dog could have had a forever home. Sadly, like most of the reviews state, this agency lacks communication.

My wife askd these people for help With a euthanizing a dying puppy as her car was down and didn’t get paid until the following week . The very next day while she was at the vet with our daughter and the remaining puppies. These people text her harassing her ! demanding that she relinquish her other healthy puppies! They then proceeded to go onto Facebook, and lie! Saying that she begged them. Saying that she tried to steal from them. Saying that she had multiple litters of puppies. And multiple dogs with parvo. Which was a SLEW of complete and utter lies . Completely unacceptable to talk to and about somebody who just experienced loss and going through one of the worst time of their lives. I shouldn’t have to get a call while I am based overseas in the military for my family in shambles because of the way they were treated by these people!! They will be hearing from my lawyer if my family has any more negative experiences by being contacted by these so-called rescuers who have absolutely no compassion. It sounds to me like they wanted to keep my wife’s puppies for themselves. This is why it’s so very important to check reviews before dealing with any company. There is not one good review about this. Program here. And we completely understand why now. Unprofessional completely uncompassionate. Rude. And slanderous.

Stephanie is a HORRIBLE Character with absolutely no compassion. Slandering me and using defamation of character For the last couple days. even went out of her way to send animal control to my house after making up lies about my dogs for the second time in two days. Care for pets will be hearing from my lawyer for slander defamation of character and harassment. Enough is enough. You people should be ashamed of yourselves.

This lady is a dog thief. It is virtually impossible to contact this person. She insinuates that she is affiliated with Winnebago County Animal Services which is not true. Whatever license she has to operate an "animal shelter" should be revoked with all due speed.

VERY disappointing!! I’ve been trying to adopt a dog from c.a.r.e for p.e.t.s. and it’s been an extremely difficult time. This establishment never answers or returns phone calls and their location is just a mailbox; not an actual facility. Hours of operation are no where to be found. I wouldn’t recommend working with them at all.

We are very interested in adopting a dog that was available. Filled out the app and never heard back. Sent 2 email and 3 messages days apart. It's been a month and never heard back. For someone trying to find homes for these fur babies, it doesn't seem like you care to do so. I feel they are just trying to get money so they say they are a rescue. Someone needs to investigate them.
