Great place to adapt an animal. 3rd time around, and it's always perfect. They ask the right things to ensure all pets are going to good homes. Definitely recommend.
It’s been years since I set foot in this place, but tonight I suddenly thought of them. I remember this place fondly as a volunteer. It was my first time helping a shelter and I enjoyed it a lot. I always had something to do, and I didn’t mind cleaning after the animals. They needed love and attention, and I was allowed to pet them after cleaning. I hope that all the animals back then have been adopted now and are in loving homes!
My family adopted a puppy from Noah's Ark about 1 month ago. It was not very busy yet - there was only 1 other human in the waiting room besides myself & my daughter. The only person who was even cordial with me was the young person who brought the puppies out to meet us in the enclosure outside. It was so hot that day, but even so, they took the time to explain the puppy's background & answer any questions. They were still so kind when we brought our new buddy back for his first booster. While I do greatly admire the work the sanctuary is doing (there were so many animals there & I can absolutely see how overwhelming that could be), the office staff was unwelcoming & seemed to be already annoyed when we arrived. We came in happy, excited & hopeful, but quickly felt deflated by the lack of friendliness. Any question I asked seemed to be an intrusion. I myself work in the service industry, and I fully understand being "peopled out," but it still common courtesy to be polite. Hopefully it was just a one-off situation & everyone was collectively having a bad day.
Ok this is getting ridiculous! I adopted my cat Shuri from Noah's Ark about 6 years ago, and have NEVER had a problem dealing with you, until this year! 4 months ago I was considering a 2nd cat from Noah's Ark but was given a hard time about it from a VOLUNTEER! I didn't go through anything like that when I adopted Shuri. Why now? 3 months ago you raised the price of a NAIL TRIM from $5 to $8, again why? I realize and appreciate the fact that you rely on donations and such, but a nail trim? It's not like I was purchasing goods or anything, and I believe you are tax exempt, so why the need for a nail trim price increase? 2 months ago I went to purchase some cat food - the VOLUNTEER couldn't find my card (even tho I have TWO cards there) and then proceeded to say the bag of food wouldn't count towards a free bag anyways because it was/is a smaller size (there weren't larger size of that particular flavor available). Today I purchased ANOTHER bag of cat food (a different flavor of the same brand - I always switch flavors for her) and the person FOUND both cards - but proceeded to say I couldn't use this purchase on said cards cuz it was a different flavor (never heard that as a condition before). However, then she read that there were INDEED different flavors on that particular purchase card? I do not understand that reasoning at all! You have lost my business & my support as a result!
I bought a kitten there about 1 1/2 years ago. The interview itself was rather insulting. I was asked how old I was? Why would they need to know that? The kitten got sick a few months after I bought it. I spent over $1,300 at the animal hospital and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. I took her home, gave her meds and called Noah's Ark to let them know about my kitty. I was sobbing, I could hardly talk. The lady I talked to said make sure and call on Monday and let me know how she's doing. I called Monday and said I had to put her to sleep. I thought maybe they would offer me a free kitten, but no. I felt like she could have cared less. Still have not gotten another kitten and am extremely hesitant to ever go back to Noah's Ark.
Super nice staff and helpful! I went there in hopes to find a cat to adopt and fell in love with one. They helped me fill out paperwork and everything was so smooth and easy! The animals were all well kept and looked healthy as well as a clean and organized building! Great job by Noah's ark staff. Highly recommend to anyone out there looking to adopt. 10/10
