Description CCR does not have a physical shelter. Our dogs depend on foster homes to care for them until suitable, adoptive homes are found. Critter Cavalry Rescue (CCR) is a 501c3 Non-Profit Rescue Organization. Over the last 10 years, CCR's dedicated volunteers fostered and found forever homes for thousands of abandoned dogs. We are focused on rescuing homeless dogs from high-kill Tennessee shelters, where many loving companions wait in vain for a family to adopt them. On average, CCR rescues over 1,000 dogs every year.

Loving our Millie Mae (previously named Jamie Lynn). We found our newest addition to the family through Critter Cavalry! The application process was easy, communication was fast, and we were able to meet our pup through the foster family before taking her home. All documentation/paperwork came with her. She is nearly four months old and settling in well to our busy, active lifestyle. She loves joining us on family adventures but is also great at settling down and cuddling. Strongly recommend rescuing from this organization!
Critter Cavalry went above and beyond for Lottie (formerly Junebug), and we’re so grateful for the amazing volunteers and fosters who cared for her during her eye surgery recovery. Lottie loves everyone she meets, and we believe it’s because of the kindness she experienced along the way. We’re so lucky to have her in our lives!
We adopted our dog, formerly named “puppy scooter” from Critter Cavalry rescue and it was a wonderful experience. He now goes by “Jax” and is an integral part of our family. The foster was excellent in describing his personality and helping us know if he would be a good fit for our family with a young, active toddler. Critter Cavalry had him completely up to date with all vaccines upon arrival and pick up was such an easy process. We would recommend them and adopt from them again in a heartbeat! They truly care about all their dogs and finding them all their perfect forever homes.
We love Critter Cavalry! We adopted sweet Bluebell (aka Molly) last year. They are super responsive and made the adoption process very easy. We love our sweet Molly girl and appreciate everything they did to bring her to her forever home.
We adopted Jack (formerly Shaq) about a year and a half ago. The rescue was great to work with - especially when it came to finding a solution to Jack's anxiety. It took him quite a while to adjust to our family, and he still has his moments of anxiety. It is part of his personality, and we love him wholeheartedly. He's a very good boy, playful, and energetic. We are so happy we were able to adopt him. Thank you
I can't say enough about the positive experience of adopting our Zsa Zsa (aka Mattie, a 2 year old Bichon) from Critter Cavalry Tennessee - to her forever home in Massachusetts. I worked with Vivienne who processed my application and put me in touch with foster Mom, Peggy. I submitted my application on a Thursday; my references were all verified by Saturday (one reference was on vacation), and I knew by Monday morning that we were getting a new family member. Vivienne and Peggy were so nice, caring, and helpful; as was Transport Tim who brought all of the precious cargo to Windsor, CT. We were 1 of about 12 very happy families that Sunday morning. To anyone considering the adoption process, DO NOT let a long distance adoption thru Critter Cavalry deter you. What an amazing experience, and what joy Zsa Zsa has brought to our family and her brother BoBo already in 10 days; we can't imagine our home without her.
