DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A BOTCHED SURGERY AND YOUR ANIMAL TO SUFFER TREMENDOUSLY. They will change the price on you and proceed to yell at you in the most disgusting unprofessional manner I have ever witness in a veterinary clinic. I will be reporting this business to the Louisiana board of veterinary medicine for negligence. The owner is in no mental or capable state to be performing any sort of surgery on animals. Shame on you.

Looks like I can't amend my original review as Google once allowed, so I'm leaving another after seeing the owner's response. I think that's fair game considering I've had multiple visits anyway. (see original comments from 8 months ago). As you'll see from the condescending tone he takes as he responds to everyone else's recollection of poor experiences, he doesn't take accountability. Is any given imperfect experience 100% his fault? Likely not, it takes two to tango; but, is this a business? Yes. And in business it's necessary to interact with customers honestly and respectfully. That just doesn't happen here. As mentioned. I once called to ask if a 3 year rabies vaccine was offered here. He said yes, so I came in and he gave my dog a shot. After I finished checking out, I noticed he'd written an expiration date of 1 year on the vaccination proof document he provided with my receipt. When questioned, he admitted he'd lied because I "wouldn't have come [to his clinic] otherwise." He mentioned my request for virtual treatment was potential grounds for malpractice in his response to my original post... well, isn't administering the incorrect drug or procedure to a patient risky as well? I think so, but he wasn't too concerned about risk when it was even the slightest bit profitable. Also worth mentioning that the very first time I came to his clinic, he was incredibly flirtatious; and while I tolerated it so as to not upset the guy who was to perform surgery on my fur child, it was incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable... dare I say rude since that's what I've been scapegoated as. Specific to this instance, the following day, after I picked my dog up from surgery, his aftercare instructions were all verbal. That wouldn't have been so bad had they been coherent and linear. As I see others mention post surgery issues, I'm not surprised -- even if their after care was the cause -- because he doesn't tell you what to do, how long to do it, how frequently, etc. It took multiple follow-up calls to ensure I was managing my dog's condition properly and with each it was obvious he was becoming annoyed at the necessity to provide such essential detail. You may ask, "well if it was so bad, why'd you keep coming back?" Well... he's really cheap compared to other places; but he's also the best example of that old saying "you get what you pay for." Do with that as you will.

I had to get my three male cats spayed/neutered and they were the only clinics that were available right away. The owner worked welled with me and my partner even gave my partner syringed and iodine for his hands because he was bit by the cat. They gave our cats rabies shots so that we would be qualified for the Fix-A-Feline program, they even cut their nails. Our total came up to $270 to $25 for the extra carrier they gave us. They were wonderful, understanding, and one time, caring, and good at communication. I highly recommend to anyone who need their babies đŸ˜»taken care of.

On multiple occasions, this vet has shown that he is more focused on making money than providing quality pet care. I’ve had to ask him to clean egregiously unsanitary surfaces before placing my dog on them; he lied and said that he offered a 3 year rabies shot just to get me to come and spend money on vaccines when he in fact only had a 1 year shot; and he copped a flippant attitude when I asked him to treat my dogs stomach trouble without making me come in to get her temperature taken (something I can do myself) since she has been a regular patient. I’m done here.

Made and appointment at the beginning of this week for my dog whose been seen here before. Now the first time I came for a visit the vet was MIA and I had to wait, no biggie I didn’t have any other plans that day. Plus he had posted, at the time, that he was running specials for anyone directly affected with wage loss due to covid (I am a bartender, so I was very much impacted). During the visit we discuss my dog’s issues, and the vet continues to try and plug some restaurant that he’s opened as well (not sure when a vet visit became a marketing tactic but whatever). Total visit, approx $250 ish. Well today I had a 10 am appointment and surprise vet is MIA again. I called trying to figure out what’s up and am told that he had no appointments scheduled for today because it’s his wife’s birthday. I’m interrogated about when and with whom I “supposedly” made an appointment, and told that he would call me “when he had a window of free time so that I could come meet him”. Mind you, I made an appointment so that I could plan my day around, and as a result have been committed to sticking with those plans. Plus I don’t typically hop from vet to vet because it just starts the process all over again from square one when I know for facts what she needs in this visit. I call and visit Low Cost Animal Medical Clinic. Not only were these people so good with my dog, but the cost of the visit was SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper than with this vet charging “special covid pricing”. Not to mention, I left with 3 additional medications today and two flea preventatives, approx $175. Here it is, 2 o’clock and I have still yet to hear from this vet based off a 10 am appointment I was supposed to have.

Dr. Saacks, of Dog Day Afternoon, is our vet. He's has done several spay and neuters for us with rescue/rehome cats, along with treated our pets. He and Joseph are great! I'm grateful I found them. I recommend him highly.
