Description Since 1893, the Milwaukee Rescue Mission (MRM) has served men, women and children who are homeless, hungry and in need, helping them restore their lives and renew their HOPE. MRM meets basic needs (meals, shelter and clothing) and offers transformative programs that equip individuals in crisis to make lasting change in their lives—including education, addiction recovery support, job training and spiritual direction. We provide at-risk children with a quality education through our K4-12th grade school, Cross Trainers Academy, and equip families in need with resources to achieve stability through our community programs. At MRM, we address the root causes behind homelessness—offering help in the present in order to give hope for the future.

I feel personally blessed every time I donate to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. Last week, I brought clean, well-worn sheets, blankets, and towels to the drop-off center at their downtown location. I am always met by the same extremely kind and gracious gentleman at the receiving door. They accept all gently worn clothing for men, women, and children. Also, household linens, personal care items, and more. They provide for the most vulnerable among us in our community-- those who have lost their homes and have immediate needs. I have a friend who brought fresh bagels at the end of a day when they hadn't been sold and were going to be tossed into the garbage. These, too, were gratefully accepted at the donation center. Want to make an immediate and much appreciated gift to someone? Give here. Easy to find; drop-off and drive away. You will feel very good about yourself every time!

Seems like they're more concerned with converting everyone to Christianity then they are actually helping them. Your best bet is to get a job as soon as possible. They do what they call chapel which is like church once a day and the only things they watch on TV are football and the news but mostly Bible study and Christian movies. The shoehorn prayer and Christianity into everything you do. Most of the staff is rude and they're obsessed with rules and breaking any rules will have them get creative with the punishments. They are cold-hearted when it comes to kicking you out. They do Pat downs and breathalyzers every time you went to the building. The curfew is 4:00 p.m. unless you have a job. This place should probably be investigated for forcing religion on ppl.

definitely an interesting experience. if you truly need a place it’s not so bad. they wake you up at 5:30am so that’s annoying. i’m not sure if all shelters are the same as this is the first one i’ve been to but it’s kinda like a chill boot camp to get your life straighten out

I took over 12 boxes of gently used and some new women's, children's and men's clothes, along with some household supplies. The gentleman that received my donations was so welcoming and appreciative. He said "Thank you" multiple times. I also donate $$ to MRM and Patrick Vandenberg's (sorry if I spelled it wrong) videos about what is going on at the shelter are always informative and interesting. Yes, they may have rules and procedures that some people might not like, but remember...they are feeding, housing, clothing and keeping safe over 100 people at a time usually. I will continue to donate to MRM regularly! ❤️

"If you do not accept Christ, you face hellfire and eternal damnation" This is the last thing someone who is struggling needs to hear. Forced nightly mass. That's their Modus Operandi, repent or no help will be offered. If you or a loved one are homeless, jobless, or suicidal, steer clear. The staff is entirely condescending. Go with Ascension, avoid the zealots. The men who have nowhere else deserve better. It's a waking nightmare.
